Today is World Cancer Day, where we look to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment.

Eye cancers, while not overly common, are still serious conditions that requires awareness and early detection across Australia.

Ocular melanoma is a rare but serious eye cancer that affects around 150 Australians every year. Early detection through regular eye exams can help diagnose it sooner and save lives, especially for those with increased risk.

Our gorgeous Lauren has opened another day in her book! 🥳 Previously only coming in on alternating Saturdays, Lauren will now also be working every Wednesday from February 18th onwards! ✨🌟

Lauren first developed an interest in eyes while studying the unit of visual perception in VCE Psychology. She was amazed by their complexity and wanted to learn more, discovering that Optometry was her dream job. Since then, Lauren has been living that dream at Leverett & Kindler for the last 15 years. 🌷🌺

When she’s not at work, Lauren’s life revolves around her daughters, and if there’s any “me time” left over, she is drinking good coffee and eating good food with the people she loves. ☕🍛
