COVID-19

We are continuing to operate but with preventative and mitigation measures in place.

We encourage all patients to use effective preventative measures including hand hygiene, avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth, good respiratory hygiene and social distancing.

In addition we have implemented Environmental Controls in our rooms to ensure patient and staff safety and these include

* adequate space to ensure social distancing
* regulating patient flow to ensure minimal overlap
* reducing contamination of surfaces and inanimate objects with regular cleaning
* rescheduling clinics to allow only one Specialist to consult at anyone time

In addition, Dr Dekkers will be not wearing a tie or suit jacket at this time and rolling up sleeves to reduce contamination.

We also ask that patients attend appointments with only essential family members.

We ask that all our patients phone our staff if they have any respiratory symptoms or have traveled overseas recently before attending the practice.

As a former Captain in the Australian Army, I remember the sacrifice offered by so many. Lest we forget.

Just returned from Berlin after attending the International Knee Arthroplasty Symposium. The focus of the meeting was new technologies and techniques which will enhance not only improved function following Total Knee Replacement but also longevity and more rapid recovery. Lots of great ideas now to introduce into my practice.
