Awards for Excellence in Medical Education were presented on Friday night by the President of the Wollongong University Medical Student Society, Jamie Szabo.
We are incredibly proud to announce that our very own Dr Katrina De Marco received the highly prestigious Award for Excellence in Small Group Tutoring (Phase 2, 3 or 4). These awards provide an opportunity for GSM students to recognise doctors who have made a meaningful and lasting impact on their learning.
Dr De Marco’s compassionate and dedicated contribution to the future of general practice is truly inspirational.
In an incredible reflection of her commitment, one of her students was also recognised with an award on the night a true testament to the time, energy and passion she invests in her teaching.
As one student shared:
“She gives each of us space to discuss our thoughts and feelings and helps us address concerns we may have directly and openly in a way that I have found incredibly helpful to debrief. Katrina’s commitment to our academic achievement is laudable, and the way she is open to discussion on matters within and without the CBL topics is worthy of adulation. She’s also super cool, and has a great sense of humour.”
Congratulations on such a well deserved accolade Dr De Marco.
What a privilege it is for Griffith to have such a calibre of doctor in our community.
