ConverteAg

ConverteAg Converte manufacture and supply bio-agri inputs for seed, soil, plant and animal health. Converte is a new health company with a long heritage.

Our first product, Converte Universal Natural Plantfood, was developed by the brilliant scientist, David Menne, back in 1997, and has been extensively trialed across farms and home gardens for the past 13 years with incredible results. After David passed away in 2003, Conrad Vereker continued to realize Davidโ€™s dream of remineralising our soils to help human health โ€“ re-introduce into the food chain, nutrient dense products full of minerals and vitamins that are missing in our food today. In 2008, a number of like minded investors, came on board to help market this unique product and health vision across Australia and the world. Our team is located from Sydney to Griffith, NSW, Australia, providing a unique mix of talents to help connect regional farmers and gardeners to metropolitan and international markets. We are developing partnerships with farmers, gardeners, food chains, food producers, health markets, health companies, like-minded businesses and investors to help realise the potential of this new wave of health products in our community.

Most farmers think about soil in terms of what's in it: NPK levels, pH, organic matter.

But those numbers don't explain why nutrients often fail to reach the crop.

Clay particles and organic matter carry negative charge. Nutrientsโ€”calcium, magnesium, zinc, ironโ€”carry positive charge. They attract. They hold. They exchange.

This is the matrix that feeds your crop.

And in many Australian soils, it's been gradually breaking down.

Years of synthetic inputs acidify the soil through nitrificationโ€”every nitrogen cycle releases hydrogen ions, dropping pH by half a point per decade.

As pH drops, the negative charge sites on organic matter collapse. The matrix shrinks. Iron and aluminium become toxic, locking phosphorus into insoluble solids.

- Nutrients remain present but unavailable because the system that keeps them dissolved as ions has broken down.

- Plants absorb ions, not solid particles.

A chelating molecule wraps around a nutrient ionโ€”holding it dissolved in soil water, preventing it from clumping back into an insoluble solid, keeping it mobile enough to reach a root.

Nature does this constantly through healthy soil biology.

Mycorrhizal fungi produce oxalic and citric acids at their hyphal tipsโ€”natural chelatorsโ€”wrapping around iron and aluminium ions, pulling phosphorus off the surfaces where it's stuck, keeping nutrients flowing as ions instead of locked as particles.

- When that biology collapses, the chemistry collapses with it. Nutrients clump. Flow stops. The matrix stagnates.

Plantfood rebuilds biology, increasing VAM fungi populations and restoring natural chelation

โ†’ Premium Fulvic Acid provides concentrated organic acids and polyphenols to convert locked particles back into plant-available ions

โ†’ Nutricycler series delivers nutrients already chelated so they stay dissolved and available

The question isn't how much you're applying.

It's whether your soil can keep nutrients flowing as ions instead of clumping as particles.

Supporting Victoriaโ€™s Farmers: Converte Steps Up After the Fires

In the wake of the recent bushfires across Victoria, many farming families are facing enormous challenges โ€” lost pasture, damaged infrastructure, and immense pressure on livestock health.
Thatโ€™s why Converte (Matt Gatto and Ben Reid) are on the road this week, donating our Animal Nutrition product to support impacted farmers.
Weโ€™re donating our concentrated Animal Nutrition mineral and vitamin supplement designed to be easily applied to dry feed or added straight into water troughs, helping sheep and cattle maintain essential nutrition when quality feed is scarce.
When pasture is burnt and livestock are stressed, trace minerals and vitamins become critical for:
โ€ข Maintaining immune function
โ€ข Supporting energy and recovery
โ€ข Reducing metabolic stress
โ€ข Protecting productivity during feed shortages
(Our boxes include 10 litres of Animal Nutrition PER FARMER which will support a mob of 50 sheep for a month).
This is about standing with farming communities when they need it most. Practical support. Immediate relief. Boots on the ground.
Product drop off points in Yea and Skipton, VICTORIA.
If you or someone you know in bushfire-affected areas of Victoria could benefit from support, please reach out (CALL 1800 108 940) or share this post so we can get help where itโ€™s needed.
Proud to back Australian farmers โ€” not just in business, but in tough times too. ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ

Why Farmers are switching to biostimulant seed coatings

Farmers are using Converte biostimulant seed coating (often called โ€œSeed Primerโ€) on broadacre crops primarily to give the seeds a stronger start and improve overall crop performance โ€” especially under challenging environmental conditions. This isnโ€™t just about coating the seed surface; itโ€™s about delivering biological and nutritional benefits right at the start of the cropโ€™s life cycle.
Hereโ€™s why farmers are choosing it:
1. Better Germination and Early Growth
Biostimulant seed coatings are formulated to deliver nutrients, trace elements and beneficial microbes directly to the seed before sowing. This can help enhance germination rates and improve vigour of emerging seedlings, giving crops like wheat a healthier and more uniform start.
2. Improved Nutrient Uptake
By supplying macro- and micro-nutrients and chelating agents right at the seed stage, seed primer helps the plant access and use soil nutrients more effectively from the beginning, which is critical for early root and shoot development.
3. Greater Resilience to Stress
Our biostimulant coating helps plants cope better with abiotic stresses such as drought, heat, frost or poor soil conditions. Stronger early root systems and improved plant health translate to crops that are more resilient across the season.
4. Supports Soil and Plant Biology
Our coating includes components that promote beneficial soil biology such as mycorrhizal fungi and microbes, which further supports nutrient cycling and soil health โ€” a foundation for sustainable crop growth.
5. Integrates Easily With Farming Practices
Converteโ€™s products are designed to fit into existing farming operations (e.g., compatible with current fertiliser programs) so growers can adopt them without major changes to their workflow.
Scientific Basis
Broad university and agronomic research shows that bio-stimulant seed coatings containing nutrients and microbial feeds can improve seedling growth, nutrient uptake and stress tolerance in cereals like wheat, which helps overall crop establishment and yield potential.
In short: farmers use Converteโ€™s biostimulant seed coating to get crops off to a stronger start โ€” improving early growth, nutrient uptake, stress resilience and ultimately increasing the chance of a better yield and more stable performance under variable conditions.

Seed Primer on Lupins (WA-light soils)
Benefits of seed primer on lupins in light soils

1. Faster, more even emergence

Light soils dry out quickly and can crust or blow. A seed primer helps lupin seed:

Take up moisture more efficiently

Germinate more evenly

Reduce โ€œstaggersโ€ where plants emerge over days instead of together

That even start sets yield potential early.

2. Stronger early root development

Lupins rely heavily on early root growth to chase moisture and nutrients in sandy profiles. Seed primers can:

Encourage earlier root extension

Improve early nutrient uptake

Help seedlings access subsoil moisture sooner

This is critical on low water-holding soils.

3. Improved tolerance to early stress

Light soils are prone to:

Rapid drying

Temperature swings

Low inherent fertility

Seed priming supports early plant metabolism, helping seedlings cope better with:

Short dry spells after sowing

Cold snaps

Nutrient stress during establishment

4. Better nodulation & nitrogen fixation

Lupins are only as good as their nodulation:

Stronger early vigour supports earlier and more effective nodulation

Healthier seedlings form nodules sooner, improving N supply through the season

Especially useful where paddocks are marginal or newly cropped to lupins

5. Improved crop competition

On light soils, lupins can be slow starters:

Seed priming helps plants get ahead of weeds

More uniform canopy development

Less reliance on early herbicide timing to compensate for weak growth

6. Greater establishment confidence

Even if final yield gains vary season to season, seed priming:

Reduces establishment risk

Improves stand reliability

Gives confidence when sowing into marginal moisture

That risk reduction alone is often the biggest return.

Bottom line:

On light soils, lupins live or die by their first 3โ€“4 weeks. A seed primer doesnโ€™t replace rain โ€” but it helps seedlings make better use of what moisture and nutrients are there, giving the crop the strongest possible start.

Why Iโ€™m a fan of Converteยฎ Seed Primer

If youโ€™re serious about getting crops off to the best possible start, Converteยฎ Seed Primer is worth a look. It helps improve early vigour and establishment, especially when conditions arenโ€™t ideal. By supporting stronger root development and more even emergence, crops get up and going faster and compete better from day one. In a season full of uncertainties the seed primer is an excellent low cost product to apply costing somewhere between $1-$2 per hectare depending on sowing rates.

The result? Healthier plants, better resilience, and more confidence that what youโ€™ve planted has the best chance to reach its potential. For me, itโ€™s about stacking the odds in favour of the crop right from the start โ€” and Converteยฎ helps do exactly that.

Our Story

Converte is an innovative Ag company focused on regenerative practices that restore system wide health to farming communities. Our first product, Converte Universal Natural Plantfood, was developed by the brilliant scientist, David Menne, back in 1997, and has been extensively trialed across farms and home gardens for the past 13 years with incredible results. Sadly David passed away in 2003 and it was not until 2011 that Converte was formed with assistance from Davidโ€™s son Theo Menne. Our goal was to commercialise the innovative research and products developed of David Menne Today we are proudly realizing Davidโ€™s dream of remineralising our soils and helping transform the full ecosystem health of Australian farmlands. Our factory is located in Griffith, in the NSW Riverina. This is our centre for production, research and development and from here we have expanded the business across NSW, Victoria and now in Western Australia. We are developing partnerships with farmers, universities, Ag suppliers, food producers and like-minded businesses and investors to help realise the massive potential of David Menneโ€™s work and make a contribution to regenerative agriculture at home and abroad.
