As part of our school holiday program, we welcomed Uncle Allan to the Youth Safe Space for a smoking ceremony 🔥

Staff and young people from Griffith, Hay and Lake Cargelligo came together, with the space, staff and youth all cleansed, creating a powerful moment of reflection, respect and connection 🤎

Uncle Allan shared wise yarns, advice and history, with our young people listening deeply, engaging and showing strong respect throughout 🙌

Youth also had the opportunity to get hands-on, working with ochre and supporting the smoking ceremony alongside Uncle Allan 🎨

Big thank you to Uncle Allan for sharing his knowledge, culture and time with our young people. We really appreciate it and the space you created for them. It’s special to have a positive role model like yourself continuing to be part of their journey ✊🏽

From dough to plate 🍝

Our young people got hands-on, making 3 different types of pasta from scratch along with 3 sauces to match.

A strong turnout and an even better vibe, finishing off the day sitting down together to enjoy what they created 🙌
