We are excited to launch a new cancer screening campaign with Cody Walker and Braydon Trindall, helping us spread an important message to the community ❤️💛🖤

You might have already seen our new billboard above Central Plaza or caught the ad running on TV. Both are part of our push to remind mob that cancer screening is quick, free and can make a real difference, not just for you but for your family and everyone who loves you. When we look after ourselves, we are keeping our whole community strong.

This campaign is about encouraging our people to get in early, stay healthy and be here for all the moments that matter.

Don’t Delay, Screen Today!

Book your screening with Griffith AMS and let’s keep our mob healthy together!

DOUBLE TROUBLE 👯

When two TIS teams join forces, that's a lot of Community impact! 🖤💛❤️

The Koori Way spent some valuable time with the Free, Fresh & Fit TIS team from Griffith Aboriginal Medical Service at the 3 Rivers Festival, sharing a bit of the workload, and a lot of laughs!

✨Kerrilee✨

Kerrilee is our newest Smoke Free Champion! This is her story.

“I smoked on and off for 12 years and finally gave up in 2021. My kids would get angry with me every time I would light up a cigarette, I also started to develop a receding gum, which scared me.

I quit cold turkey, focused heavily on working out at the time. Smoking did affect my lungs, I would get really bad chest infections, I also struggled to breath when I was attending the gym.

If I could change my smoking story, I wouldn't smoke at all, it is disgusting. Smoking definitely impacted me financially, especially as their price went up. I started getting gum disease and a receding gum line. My kids were scared I would develop cancer and die from smoking which was a very valid thing to be scared about.

I rarely get as sick as I did when I was a smoker, I don't suffer with anxiety like I did when I was a smoker, I feel healthier, I am more financially stable and my gums and mouth hygiene are great and healthy.

Imagine how proud your future self will be the moment you choose your health over your habit! "

Thank you, Kerrilee, for sharing your story with us and being a role model for our younger generation and the wider community! 🚭💪🏾

If you are thinking of quitting, call the Free, Fresh & Fit team to enquire about our upcoming programs or referrals to one-on-one support.

"We all know the threat, don't live with the regret."

Our Youth Services Christmas Party is happening on 12.12.2025 and we’re finishing the year with a deadly celebration 🎅🏽✨
There’ll be dinner, a swim and a special visit from Santa, so come ready for a fun and relaxed afternoon with the mob.

This event is for Aboriginal youth aged 12 to 17 and we want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable night.
If you need school pickup or transport home, make sure you book in with a youth worker so we can organise it for you.

Don’t forget to bring your swimmers and a towel for the pool 🏊🏽‍♀️❄️

We can’t wait to celebrate the end of the year with everyone.
Chat to a youth team member to let us know you’re coming! 🎄💚✨
