So many of the women I work with carry the weight of a childhood they didn't choose.

The home that didn't feel safe. The parent who couldn't show up.

The experiences that shaped how you see yourself - and the world.
You didn't get to choose any of that.

But you are here. Reading this. Asking questions. Feeling the pull toward something different.

That is you choosing where you go from here.

Healing isn't about rewriting the past. It's about reclaiming your future - one moment, one nervous system response, one gentle choice at a time.

If this speaks to you, this is exactly what we explore inside Discover Inner Healing - my self-paced program for women who are ready to stop surviving and start healing.

Most people think trauma only comes from "big" events. Accidents. Violence. Disasters.

But what about the moments nobody named?

The parent who couldn't attune to you.
The childhood home that felt unsafe even though nothing "bad" happened.
The constant walking on eggshells.
The loneliness of not being truly seen.

These are what we call 'small t' trauma - and they live in your nervous system just as deeply.

If you resonate, you're not alone. And you're not broken.

💬 Tell me in the comments: what's one thing from your childhood that you've never quite had the words for?

Burnout isn't about doing too much. It's about having too little safety inside your own body.

Here's what nobody tells you about burnout:

It's not a productivity problem.
It's not a time management problem.
It's not even a self-care problem (though that's part of it).

Burnout is what happens when your nervous system has been running on stress hormones for so long that it simply... collapses.

For many women, especially those with unresolved trauma, burnout is the body's final signal: "We can't keep pretending we're okay."

You're not lazy.
You're exhausted at the cellular level.
And you deserve real support - not more hustle.

Your foster child isn't giving you a hard time. They're having a hard time.
Here's the difference. 💛

When a child in your care screams over something that seems small - the wrong cup, a change in routine, a noise at bedtime - it can be really hard not to take it personally.

But here's what's actually happening inside their brain.

Children who've experienced early trauma, neglect, or instability have nervous systems that have been wired for survival. Their brain learned - at a very early age - that the world wasn't safe. That adults weren't reliable. That they had to stay on high alert just to get through the day.

So when they react "big" to something that seems "small," they're not being naughty. They're not manipulating you. Their nervous system is doing exactly what it was trained to do: protect them.

The behaviour isn't the problem. It's the message.

Understanding this one thing changes everything about how you respond - and how connected you feel to the child in your care.

This is exactly what we explore in The Connected Carer. The neuroscience, the behaviour, and the practical tools that actually help.

Pods are open for 2026. The pods are held online and open to those in the NSW area. So if your in Sydney or Newcastle or anywhere you are welcome to join.

Trauma isn’t always obvious.

Sometimes it looks like anxiety, shutdown, or chronic overwhelm.

These responses aren’t flaws - they’re nervous system adaptations.

Sometimes the intensity in parenting isn’t about your child…
It’s about what parenting awakens in you.

The way your chest tightens when they yell.
The wave of anger that feels bigger than the moment.
The guilt that lingers long after bedtime.

Parenting has a way of bringing old wounds to the surface - not because you’re broken, but because your nervous system is remembering.

And here’s the gentle truth:

You can learn to parent your child
while also tending to the parts of you that never felt safe, heard, or soothed.

That’s why I created The Connected Parent alongside Discover Inner Healing. Two powerhouse programs to shape your future and heal your past.

It’s about understanding your triggers, calming your body, and building connection from a grounded place.

Healing doesn’t have to be dramatic.
It can be steady. Safe. Supported.

If you’ve ever thought, “Why does this hit me so hard?”- this is for you.

Trauma can look like:
• Constant overwhelm
• Emotional numbness
• Overreacting, then feeling ashamed
• Feeling ‘on edge’ for no clear reason
• Trying to keep it together while falling apart inside

These aren’t personality flaws.
They’re nervous system responses.

Healing starts with understanding.

So many parents I work with say:

“I love my child deeply… but I’m exhausted, reactive, and don’t like how I show up sometimes.”

Here’s the truth:
Most of us were never taught how to parent with our nervous system - only how to survive stress.

That’s why I created The Connected Parent - a gentle, trauma-informed course to help you:
✨ Build connection instead of power struggles
✨ Stay calm (even when your child isn’t)
✨ Raise emotionally secure kids
✨ Break cycles without shame or perfection

And for parents who want extra support while putting this into practice, I also offer Parenting Pods - small live group sessions with me for guidance, reassurance, and real-life application 🤍

You don’t need to parent alone.
Support changes everything.

Foster caring is one of the most meaningful - and most emotionally demanding - roles there is.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, unsure, exhausted, or like nothing you’re doing is working… you’re not alone.

Children in care don’t need “perfect” carers - they need regulated, supported ones.

And you deserve support too.

🌱 The Connected Carer is a live, trauma-informed group program designed specifically for foster & kinship carers who want practical tools, emotional support, and real confidence when caring for children with trauma histories.

✨ Small group pods
✨ Therapist-led
✨ Real-life strategies
✨ Supportive, non-judgemental space

💛 This isn’t therapy - it’s education, connection, and support that actually helps.

Want the details?

You don’t have to do this alone 🤍
