Grow your child’s communication with Easter fun! 🐣
Describing Easter eggs 🪺
Easter eggs are not only delicious, they are usually decorated in bright colours and patterns. Talk to your child about what the eggs look like using adjectives, e.g. “big, small, spotty, striped, zig zags, swirly, bright, pastel, red, purple, blue”.
Easter bunny says… 🐰
A fun version of the famous “Simon says” will help your children learn to follow instructions and basic concepts like “up, down, behind, hop, jump, fast, slow”. Make it a challenge by giving two or three instructions at once e.g “put your hands behind your head, hop on one leg and spin around”. This is a great game to practice taking turns and using sentences to give out instructions.
Easter egg hunt 👀
Turn this family tradition into an opportunity to model positional language e.g “behind, in, on, under, above, next to, in between”. This is also a great activity to practice following instructions (you could add a treasure map or a series of clues).
