Meet John & Ann
“We love our villa and love the lifestyle in the community. Being pet-friendly sealed the deal.”
John and Ann downsized from a 1.5-acre property with a huge garden in Lake Wyangan. When asked why they chose Griffith, they said, “Everyone knows of the estate, because it’s local. Our first visit was to our friends, Noel & Annie, villa, and looked around. We did lots of research and decided Griffith Retirement Estate was most suitable and the best value.” They loved the space, quality and choices available during the build of their villa. When asked about life in the estate, they said, “We love our villa and love the lifestyle in the community. Being pet friendly sealed the deal.” For anyone considering a retirement estate, they said, “COME!!!! Do not put it off. The facilities are fantastic – gym, pool, tea/coffee, and the large community centre – it’s all here.”

At Griffith Retirement Estate, the people make it perfect. Having a supportive community around you with similar interests and stages of life is just one of the many benefits of moving to a retirement living estate.
The Community Centre is the social hub of the Estate and its extensive facilities such as the dining room, hairdresser, library, bar and gym.
Residents may gather with friends and family, to relax while playing billiards or darts or for a drink at the bar. Occasionally the Estate also hosts special events residents and members outside of the community can attend if they wish.
In addition to being the social hub, the new Community Centre at Griffith Retirement Estate has beautifully designed Assisted Living Apartments offering a hotel-like experience for residents.
The Apartments offer the benefits of assisted living with the freedom to live independently. The Community Centre also houses the Estate support and administrative staff.

Meet the Resident, Nives Piccoli, as she reflects on 12 years of living in the newly completed Griffith Retirement Estate. Photographed holding a picture of her beloved late husband, John Piccoli. Picture by Allan Wilson
After her husband John died, she became concerned about living alone in Collina and decided it was time to downsize.
"I was worried that if something went wrong, no one would be there to help," she said.
"At first I thought maybe a duplex would be ideal, but then I got talking to one of the staff members at Griffith Retirement Estate who encouraged me to come and have a look. I was quite amazed."
She started off living in one of the larger property options, containing three bedrooms.
While staff maintain properties, Mrs Piccoli felt it was still a bit much to handle.
"By nature, I'm the sort of person who is always finding something needing to be done," she said. "I wanted to reduce that pressure."
So, she took a look at one of the estate's apartment options and found it perfectly suited to her needs.
"I wouldn't want anything bigger," Mrs Piccoli said."Now being so close to everything means I'm always seeing someone when I'm out and about, which is a terrific social advantage."
She feels her quality of life has been enhanced tenfold.
"Just to think we have something like this in a country area - how lucky we are," she said. "I know John would be pleased to know that I'm in a place like this."
More than twenty years after the first resident arrived, our premium retirement estate has finally been completed. This means there is no more construction, but there are still villas available.
If you're considering your next move like Nives Piccoli, it's a great time to give us a call and come and see the estate for yourself. A two or three-bedroom villa is available.

Mrs Southgate had been contemplating a move from their Elder Road property initially, having heard positive reports from friends living in the estate, but Mr Southgate had been reluctant.
"It seemed like a big change for me initially because I had a workshop and gardening, but I've found that I can have all that here," Mr Southgate said.
"My decision was really that I wanted a good place for Yvonne if things ever went downhill for me."
Although it took a little adjusting, close to two years later, they are loving it. The Southgates own one of the larger villa options, with a house on a block sizeable enough for a patio area, gardens, a shed and a good amount of lawn.
"We hardly ever have to do maintenance here, but we like looking after the garden," Mrs Southgate said.
"The other lovely thing about living here is that people are so friendly and welcoming."
They marvelled at the fact that there is always something to do.
"It's just a lovely lifestyle and there's so much on offer, from the restaurant to the pool, a bar and plenty of activities to take part in at your leisure," Mr Southgate said.
"The social aspect is an integral part of living here, and for that reason, we've made a lot of friends who have come from similar circumstances.
"Quality of life here is amazing."

On Wednesday, October 29th, distinguished guests, residents and executives gathered to celebrate the completion of Griffith Retirement Estate.
