Quality Practice Accreditation

Quality Practice Accreditation There’s accreditation, then there’s Quality Practice Accreditation!

We exist to empower and support general practices across Australia to provide the highest quality healthcare and well being outcomes for patients. Quality Practice Accreditation is Australia’s leading and most innovative general practice accreditor. For more than 20 years QPA have been guiding general practices to achieve the highest standards in patient care delivery. A general practice who chooses QPA means they’re investing into the long-term growth of their practice and continual quality improvements for the health care and wellbeing of their patients, their families and their communities.

On Tuesday this week, (Remembrance Day), we were honoured to welcome members of the local Gundagai 7th Light Horse Association to our office. The 7th Light Horse Association is a remembrance troop dedicated to honouring our war heroes and keeping alive the history and traditions of the Australian Light Horse.

In the lead up to this important day, our QPA team dedicated our October fundraising efforts to raising money for this important local community group.

Thank you to the 7th Light Horse - Gundagai Troop for visiting!

A new advisory, GP25/01, has recently been released by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC). The advisory clarifies the requirements for accreditation under the National General Practice Accreditation (NGPA) Scheme for general practices and accrediting agencies.

From the 1st November 2025, general practices that have not previously registered for accreditation with an approved accrediting agency, and want to achieve accreditation under the Scheme, must register.

Some fantastic feedback from one of the quality practice teams, M3 Health Hobsons Bay, who were in attendance at our recent workshop, held in partnership with North Western Melbourne PHN earlier this month!

Last week, M3 Health Hobsons Bay participated in a session hosted by the North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network, where Dr Paul Mara (Founder & Managing Director of QPA) and Michaela Doon (Quality Accreditation Manager) shared valuable insights on quality improvement and accreditation in general practice.

It was an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow Practice Managers across the region and discuss how we can continue driving quality care and continuous improvement within our practices.

We’re proud to be part of a collaborative primary care network committed to excellence and better outcomes for our patients.
