🚨 Important Update for Our Patients – Possible Clinic Closure Tomorrow 🚨

Due to the severe weather and ongoing flooding across the Gympie region, a number of our staff are currently experiencing road closures and may be cut off from being able to attend work tomorrow.

This may result in a staff shortage, which could mean that our clinic may need to close tomorrow if we are unable to safely and adequately staff the practice.

The safety of our team and patients is our priority. We will continue monitoring conditions and will provide an update tomorrow morning once we have a clearer picture of staff availability and road access.

If you have an appointment booked for tomorrow, please call the clinic before attending to confirm whether we are open.

Patients with affected appointments will also be kept updated via text message, and our reception team will contact patients directly if appointments need to be rescheduled.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope everyone in our community stays safe during the flooding. 🌧️

💛 What is Endometriosis? 💛

Endometriosis is a medical condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing inflammation, pain, and a range of symptoms.

It affects 1 in 9 women in Australia and can impact daily life, work, relationships, and fertility.

Common symptoms include:
• Painful or heavy periods
• Chronic pelvic pain
• Pain during or after s*x
• Bowel or bladder issues, including GI distress or IBS
• Fatigue and brain fog
• Infertility or difficulty conceiving
• Autoimmune-related symptoms

Symptoms can vary widely between women, and pain severity doesn’t always match the extent of the condition. Endometriosis is not just “bad period pain” — it is a complex condition that can affect many aspects of health.

📞 If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, book an appointment with your GP for assessment, diagnosis, and support.

💛 Early recognition and management can make a real difference.

Support may include:
• Health assessments
• Lifestyle guidance
• Managing related medical conditions
• Ongoing support and monitoring

If you’re concerned about your weight or overall health, book an appointment with your GP to start the conversation.

Small steps and the right support can make a big difference. 💙

👂 World Hearing Day 👂

Hearing health is an important part of overall wellbeing. World Hearing Day is a reminder to pay attention to any changes in your hearing.

If you’ve noticed difficulty hearing conversations, needing to turn the volume up, or frequently asking people to repeat themselves, it may be time to have your ears checked.

Your GP can examine your ears, discuss your symptoms, and refer you for a hearing test if needed.

Looking after your hearing early can make a big difference.

📞 Book an appointment with your GP if you have any concerns about your hearing.

☀️ Know the ABCDEs of Melanoma ☀️

Early detection can save lives. When checking your skin, remember the ABCDE rule for spotting possible melanoma:

A – Asymmetry
One half of the mole doesn’t match the other.

B – Border
Edges are irregular, ragged, or blurred.

C – Colour
Different shades of brown, black, red, white, or blue.

D – Diameter
Larger than 6mm (about the size of a pencil eraser), though melanomas can be smaller.

E – Evolving
Any change in size, shape, colour, or symptoms such as itching or bleeding.

If you notice any of these changes, it’s important to have your skin checked by your GP.

🩺 Early detection makes a big difference — book a skin check if you have concerns. 📞(07) 5482 2311
