π¨ NDIS PARTICIPANTS, FAMILIES & CARERS β THIS MATTERS π¨
Did you know that qualified remedial massage therapists are currently excluded from registering as NDIS providers?
That means many NDIS participants canβt directly access massage therapy, even when it helps with:
β’ pain
β’ mobility
β’ muscle tension
β’ recovery
β’ quality of life
Instead, participants often have to go through more expensive providers, limiting choice, control, and affordability.
π¬ The good news? This can change.
Right now, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is running a public consultation to redefine who can be an NDIS provider β and they are actively asking for feedback from:
β people with disability
β families & carers
β providers
β the wider community
π§ Why your voice matters
Personal stories are powerful. Real experiences help decision-makers understand how this exclusion impacts everyday lives.
π€ What AMT is doing
The Association of Massage Therapists is advocating for the inclusion of qualified remedial massage Therapistsβ but they need your help.
π Theyβve made it easy
AMT has created a simple submission template you can personalise with your own experience.
π
Consultation closes: 28 February 2026 (11:30pm AEST)
π§ Submit to: NDISRegulation@health.gov.au
If you or someone you care for would benefit from direct access to massage therapy under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, this is your moment to speak up.
π Change happens when real people share real stories.
Please consider making a submission β and feel free to share this post to help others have their say.
βοΈ If you would like to submit your own experience to NDIS, please message JC Remedial Massage Therapy and I shall send you an email with the details on how to do so.
