This week, our Junior Kindy children celebrated National Lego Day by combining creativity and curiosity in a hands-on science experience. The children worked together to build a Lego volcano and then conducted a fun science experiment to make it erupt, sparking excitement, teamwork, and early scientific thinking.

The Kindy Room children engaged in a rich, open ended sensory and imaginative play experience inspired by the story "The Tiger Who Came to Tea". The tuff tray was set up with the storybook, character props, a soft toy tiger, and a variety of textured “foods” for the children to explore, touch, sort, and use in their pretend play.
The children showed curiosity as they revisited the story, retelling events in their own words and acting out scenes with the characters. They experimented with different materials, using their senses to explore textures, temperatures, and shapes. Many engaged in role play, inviting the tiger to “tea,” sharing food, and creating their own imaginative storylines.

🌼 New CCS Changes: The 3‑Day Guarantee

The Australian Government has introduced the new 3‑Day Guarantee, giving Child Care Subsidy–eligible families access to three days of subsidised early learning each week, regardless of work or study hours.

This update aims to make early learning more accessible and to support children with more consistent routines, relationships and learning experiences.

Every family’s situation is different, so the changes may impact families in different ways. If you’re unsure what this means for you, check out the links in the comments below.

We have joined forces with Gympie High, Busy at Work and Kath Dixon Institute!!!!
We would like to welcome Anna Hewitt to our team as a School Based Trainee. We worked in partnership with Anna's Mum Shannen Hewitt, Melinda Yarrow (Industry Liaison Officer at Gympie High), Brendon Zipf (Apprentice Connect Provider at Busy at Work) and Rebecca Schollum (Trainer and Assessor at Kath Dixon Institute). A huge thanks to all and onwards and upwards Anna!
