We invite you and your children (or grandchildren!) to come along to playgroup in 2026! Specially designed for children up to 3 years old, our playgroup sessions include lots of bright colours, equipment for active play and the opportunity for caregivers to catch up with residents as well.

Save the dates to your calendar, and make sure you're signed up to our email list to get reminders two weeks before each session. RSVP to our lovely lifestyle coordinator Rozz so we can save your spot! 🎉

We are so excited to announce that the winner of 2025's Marion Matthews Employee of the Year Award went to 🎉 Tahlia Di**le 🎉.

Tahlia is a Personal Carer who has been at Bethsalem Care for just under two years, and has endeared herself to residents, relatives and staff alike for her quiet, cheerful dedication and for her committed efforts to genuine communication and resident care.

Tahlia received more nominations than any previous winner of the award by a considerable margin, from her peers, supervisors, managers and many residents and relatives. We congratulate Tahlia and thank her for her commitment and demonstration of the values of Bethsalem Care in everything she does.

If you see Tahlia in the hallway this week, please make sure to congratulate and thank her for the part she has played in providing excellent service and quality outcomes for the team and residents at Bethsalem Care!

INTERNATIONAL MEN'S DAY 2025 | Men Leading By Example

Today we’re honouring the men who call Bethsalem Care home, and the volunteers, staff, and carers who support them.

International Men’s Day reminds us of the important contributions men make to their families and communities, while also drawing attention to men’s mental health and well-being. This year’s theme, “Celebrating Men and Boys,” encourages us to recognise the role models who guide and uplift others.

In partnership with Beyond Blue Australia, the day highlights the mental health challenges many boys and men face and the importance of creating supportive, connected communities.

We marked the day with a BBQ Yiros lunch in the Sails Café - a simple way to come together, show appreciation, and reinforce that every man in our community deserves care, connection, and a sense of belonging.

It's that time of year again! 🎉✨

We were honoured to be blessed with the presence of Marion Matthews at Bethsalem Care, one of our wonderful residents who lived to 106! She endeared herself to many with her kindness, empathy, compassion and cheerfulness.

On her passing, and in consultation with her family, we have been privileged to memorialise Marion's spirit and example among the team at Bethsalem Care with the creation of the "Marion Matthews Employee of the Year Award".

Through this award we are recognising and fostering some of the character traits of a dear friend and have encouraged employees to emulate her attitude towards others in the work place.

This award recognises that the lives of residents are enriched through the dedication and commitment of employees at Bethsalem Care. Every year staff, family and friends of Bethsalem Care nominate an employee who demonstrates excellence in service and commitment to residents.

This employee demonstrates the following attributes:
✨Cheerfulness in producing quality outcomes
✨Commitment to residents, staff and family members
✨Empathy and Compassion
✨Responsiveness to the needs of the residents
✨Delivering outcomes that exceeds expectations

After sixteen years of dedicated service on the Board — and a lifetime connection to Bethsalem Care — Clive Wilson is taking a well-earned break.

From his early days helping his father at the former Glynde site, to designing our current facility as chief architect, Clive’s thoughtful leadership and commitment to our mission have left a lasting mark on our community.

At this year’s AGM, Clive was awarded Life Membership in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Christadelphian Care Services (SA) Inc. — a truly fitting honour.

We extend our deepest gratitude for his faithful service and ongoing support as we continue to build on the strong foundation he helped create.

A beautiful story about the mutual comfort and love between pets & their owners, no matter the age!

There’s something truly healing about the friendship between people and their pets. Studies show that companionship like this can ease loneliness, lift mood, and even support healthy ageing. Both hearts benefit from the care they share.

A few weeks before Christmas, my 89-year-old mum’s beloved elderly dog passed away, leaving her heartbroken and her home far too quiet. She decided not to get another dog — she worried her disability and age meant it wouldn’t be fair to a new pet, especially if she couldn’t outlive it.

But fate had other plans. A kind dog rescuer, who had helped rehome dogs to her in the past, learned about her loss. When a sweet 12-year-old dog arrived at the shelter — whose elderly owner had sadly passed away — she immediately thought of Mum and gave her a call.

Lonely and missing the comfort of a furry friend, Mum decided to “give it a go.” The moment they met, it was as if they’d been waiting for each other all along. Now, the two of them are inseparable — sharing cuddles, walks (or gentle toddles!), and endless companionship.

Both have been given a second chance at love and joy. Mum has her loyal friend again, and this little dog has found a home filled with warmth and care.

Sometimes, the right souls find each other just when they need it most. 🫡❤️🐶

2025 Annual General Meeting | Another year of blessings and growth at Bethsalem Care 🔅

On November 1st, members of Christadelphian Care Services (SA) Inc. gathered at Bethsalem Care for the 71st Annual General Meeting.

We reflected on another year of compassionate care, community, and gratitude for God’s continued blessings over our residents, staff, and volunteers.

We also celebrated key moments of the day - including welcoming a new Director and honouring the faithful service of a long-standing Board member.

It was a wonderful time of fellowship and reflection, followed by the official opening of our new gym - more on that in our next post!
