A new harmonium!

(We'll it's actually a very old harmonium, but new for me)

I've really wanted to get a hold of a second harmonium so I can loan one two students and I bought this one off an old friend last weekend.

I had no idea if it was fully functional or in tune but I thought I'd just take a leap of faith and I'm really happy.

Not only is it in tune but it actually sounds pretty good- not bad for a 50 year old instrument.

I look forward to infusing it with many more years of mantra... 🎹🕉️❤️

We had some epic events at Northcote Uniting Church back in the day.

Not exactly sure when this one was, but it would have been around 2011 and I reckon it was a Spring Equinox by the garland the lovely Ngaire is wearing!

Lots of familiar faces in there, a lovely memory of my blessed kirtan journey.

Have you ever thought about wanting to learn how to play mantra & kirtan but didn’t know where to start?

Whether you want to play for your own personal practice and enjoyment, or you would like to build up to leading your own kirtan, learning how to play this type of music is more than just learning chords and words. It’s about presence. It’s about vibration. Developing the ability to play from the heart with ease and grace is much more important than technical prowess. I can show you the way.

All you need is a willingness to learn, your voice, and a few hours spare to play & practice. Basic familiarity with your instrument of choice is preferable- but you don’t have to be very experienced- it’s amazing what you can do with just 2 chords!

Learning kirtan and mantra can be a wonderful, empowering journey into the heart, deepening your connection to yourself and your voice. So good.
