This week, we were delighted to partner with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia - NSW Branch to deliver the joint Albury-Wodonga Guild Member Reception.

The event was a great opportunity to share cross-jurisdictional knowledge and updates with pharmacists from the Albury-Wodonga region – especially as both states continue to take steps towards implementing pharmacists’ full scope of practice.

Enabling pharmacists to provide the same services - not just in Victoria and NSW, but nationwide - will provide patients with universal access to health services, no matter which side of the border they live on.

A big thank you to all the dedicated community pharmacists who joined us and continue to provide accessible, patient-centred care to local communities every day.

We were delighted to host our second annual Parliamentary Morning Tea last week, bringing together Members of Parliament and key health leaders to celebrate the vital role community pharmacies play in providing accessible, affordable healthcare across Victoria.

Thank you to Juliana Addison MP, Shadow Minister for Health Georgie Crozier MP, Ryan Batchelor MP, and Pharmacy Guild National President - Trent Twomey for speaking about the importance of local pharmacy in our communities - and to all the Members of Parliament who joined us on the day.

A big congratulations also to Victoria’s National Pharmacy Awards winners – Camperdown Pharmacy, Ahmed Ibrahim and Bryony Forrest – who all received their awards at the event. We wish you all the best of luck at the national finals at in March next year!

It was also our privilege to recognise 40-Year Guild Life Member, John Steiner, at the event.

This week, Pharmacy Guild Of Australia - Victoria Branch Vice President Paul Krassaris, joined Health Minister Mary-Anne Thomas MP in visiting the team at Terry White Chemmart Rosebud: Prestige Cosmetic Houses, led by Gary Smethurst.

Upper House member for Eastern Victoria, Tom McIntosh MP, also joined the visit to see first-hand how Gary's team are continually improving the pharmacy's capability deliver the care their community needs through the Community Pharmacy Program as more conditions are added over the next two years.

The Minister's tour included a look-in at their Care Clinic consulting rooms, the Webster packing robot, and even a quick meet and greet with one of her constituents enjoying Rosebud's scenic beach vistas during these school holidays.
