EpiPenยฎ Steps

1๏ธโƒฃ Lay the person flat (do not let them stand or walk)
2๏ธโƒฃ Remove the blue safety cap
3๏ธโƒฃ Place the orange end against the outer mid-thigh
(can be given through clothing)
4๏ธโƒฃ Push firmly until you hear a click
5๏ธโƒฃ Hold in place for 3 seconds
6๏ธโƒฃ Remove and massage the area

โฑ If no improvement after 5 minutes, give a second dose (if available)

What do you do?
Here's what NOT to do first โ€” don't make them vomit. For many poisons, this can actually make things worse.

Here's what TO do:
โœ… Stay calm
โœ… Call the Poisons Information Centre immediately: 13 11 26 (available 24/7 in Australia)
โœ… Have the substance ready to describe โ€” the bottle, packet, or plant
โœ… Follow their instructions before doing anything else

The Poisons Information Centre handles over 100,000 calls a year. They are the experts. Your job in that moment is to call them fast and listen carefully.
But the best thing you can do?
Know what to do before it happens.
