The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has reported that a fake rabies vaccine (Abhayrab®) has been circulating in India since 1 November 2023.

People who a received rabies vaccine in India from this date may not be fully protected against rabies.

If you think you might have received this vaccine in India, see your healthcare provider to organise replacement doses.

Providers registered for the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program (BBPIP) must add their bank account details to receive their first incentive payment in January 2026.

Add bank account details for the MyMedicare Incentives program through the Services Australia website.

SEMPHN’s Vulnerable Peoples Homebound Vaccination Program has been extended to 30 June 2026, making COVID-19 immunisation more accessible.
