A message to our people who end up hunched over for hours wrapping presents, cooking, or carrying shopping bags? 🥲

The silly season is fun, but it can also load extra stress onto your body (and your spine!). A simple way to give your posture a break is with a posture pole (a great tool to gently stretch, open up the chest, and reset after being curled forward.)

We stock them here at HVC, so if you’d like to know how they could fit into your routine, just ask our team next time you’re in. 🧡

Can you believe it’s already the silly season!?

Our clinic is feeling festive and we’re so grateful to celebrate another year with our amazing community.

Whether you’re busy wrapping presents, planning family gatherings, or just soaking up the summer sun - we hope you take a moment for yourself too.

Here’s to a December full of joy & connection!

When you’re stressed, your body often tells the story before you even realise it.

😬 Shoulders creeping up toward your ears
😬 Jaw clenching without noticing
😬 Slouching forward at your desk

These postural changes are your body’s way of physically holding on to stress. Over time, they can create extra strain on your spine, muscles, and nervous system.

Productive or just busy? There’s a big difference.

Being busy often means cramming the day with tasks, rushing from one thing to the next, and feeling stressed but not really moving forward.
Being productive is about focusing your time and energy on what truly matters and doing it well.

Your nervous system plays a big role here. When you’re stuck in constant “fight or flight,” it’s easy to fall into the busy trap.

Whereas when your body spends more time in “rest and digest” you can think clearly, make better decisions, and feel accomplished at the end of the day.

Here’s Dr Matt demonstrating one of the many different chiropractic techniques we use at HVC. Every spine is unique, which means the same approach won’t suit everyone.

The great thing about chiropractic is the variety of techniques available, some firm, some gentle, so we can find the style that makes you feel most comfortable, and best supports you. 🧡

Have you seen these in the clinic? The Denneroll is a spinal orthotic designed to support posture and spinal alignment when used as part of a care plan.

It’s often recommended for use at home to:
- Gently stretch and support spinal curves
- Assist with posture correction
- Complement in-clinic chiropractic care

Because every spine is unique, it’s important to be shown how to use the Denneroll correctly. If you’d like to know whether it might be suitable for you, chat with your chiropractor at your next appointment. 🧡

When life gets stressful, it’s not just in your head, your body feels it too.

Emotional stress can sometimes show up physically as:
⚡️ Tension through the shoulders and back
⚡️ Changes in posture
⚡️ Jaw clenching or grinding teeth

Over time, this tension can place extra strain on your spine and nervous system.

Chiropractic care focuses on supporting spinal function and helping your nervous system adapt, so your body can better manage the effects of stress. 🧡

Oh and why are the Chiropractors fingers in the clients mouth in this photo?
The muscles inside the jaw and around the face can hold a lot of tension, especially with habits like clenching, grinding, or stress-related tightness.

This technique helps to:
- Release muscle tension in the jaw
- Support better movement and function around the jaw and neck

Sometimes our bodies give us little signals that the nervous system is working overtime. It’s not always obvious, but over time it can affect how you feel, move, and adapt.

At HVC, chiropractic care is all about supporting your spine and nervous system so your body has the best chance to find balance and recharge.
