We are pleased to announce Dr Stijn Dongelmans is joining the Helena Estate Medical team in mid March.

Before joining Helena Estate, Dr Stijn worked in the Wheatbelt and with Silverchain palliative care. Throughout, he has become known for his calm and warmth. He values adjusting the medical approach to the goals and values of each individual patient. As well as clinical practice, Dr Stijn works for the Royal Australian College of GPs, training new GPs.

Dr Stijn completed his medical degree in the Netherlands, before falling in love with an Aussie and moving to W.A. He has since worked in several major Perth hospitals. With experience across a variety of disciplines, he became especially proficient in cardiology and geriatric medicine. He has complemented this by working in public health and research, publishing internationally.
In his spare time, Dr Stijn enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter, trail-running, walking in the nearby hills, and spending time outdoors.

Dr Stijn enjoys the full spectrum of general practice, with a special interest in:
• Chronic disease inc. diabetes & cardiovascular disease management
• Geriatric Medicine
• Palliative Care
• Preventive Medicine

Helena Estate Medical Centre would like to welcome Dr Anoop Ramgolam to the practice in February 2026. Unfortunately Dr Robyn Jones will be leaving us as part of her Training Program requirements. Dr Anoop will be happy to assist her existing patients going forward.

Dr Anoop Ramgolam graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Western Australia in 2020. He has since worked in various specialities across multiple hospitals in Western Australia and currently specialising in General Practice.

After studying Biomedical engineering in France (Lyon) and obtaining a PhD, he moved to Australia in 2012 and worked as a researcher with Telethon Kids Institute and Perth Children’s hospital. He has published numerous international research articles. Last year, he successfully completed a clinical foundation degree in palliative care medicine with the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2025 while working with Silverchain Palliative Care.

His professional interest includes general medicine, children’s health, geriatrics, stroke, rehabilitation medicine, pain management and palliative care.

He speaks French, Creole (Mauritian) and English fluently and dabbles in Hindi. Outside of work, with the help of his wife, he has another full-time job building memories with his two young daughters.
