More benefits of Mozart - Mozart is the music I use when you have a Bowen Treatment with me! Healing all over.

According to a 2025 study published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, researchers exposed 100 mice to Mozart’s K.448 for two hours each night over 63 days, using three different musical tones (D, A, and G), and compared them with mice exposed to no music. The results showed that music exposure significantly upregulated six key intestinal barrier genes—including Claudin-1, Claudin-12, ZO-1, ZO-2, Occludin, and Mucin-2—which are responsible for sealing the gut lining. Among all groups, D-tone music produced the strongest effect, with the highest expression of tight-junction proteins and the lowest levels of gut-leakage markers DAO and D-lactate, indicating a measurably tighter, less permeable intestinal barrier.

Beyond structural effects, the study found that D-tone Mozart also reduced intestinal stress signals (lower HSP60 and HSP90) and boosted gut immune defenses, significantly increasing IgA and IgG production in the ileum. At the microbiome level, music exposure did not change overall microbial diversity but shifted the abundance of beneficial bacteria, including Lactobacillus and Sporosarcina, while reducing markers associated with dysbiosis. Together, the findings show that specific sound frequencies—not just music in general—can directly regulate gut barrier integrity, immune signaling, and beneficial microbial colonization, with D-tone Mozart K.448 producing the most consistent protective effects in mice.

A little about how Bowen therapy works so effectively - I’ve been treating newborns to the elderly and get so much success, that even after 20 years I still do love my job due to the results.

The Polyvagal Theory explains how our autonomic nervous system functions which all centres around are vagus nerve and the communication with our brain.
1. Fight or Flight (Sympathetic State) – when we’re on high alert, stressed, or anxious.
2. Freeze or Shutdown (Dorsal Vagal State) – when we feel flat, disconnected, or overwhelmed.
3. Social Engagement / Rest & Digest (Ventral Vagal State) – when we feel safe, connected, and able to heal.

Bowen’s gentle, precise moves stimulate receptors in the fascia (the connective tissue throughout our body), which then sends calming signals via the vagus nerve to the brain, telling it: “It’s safe now — you can rest.”

When our body can rest, several things happen:
• Muscle tension eases
• Breathing slows and deepens
• Digestion and circulation improve
• Healing can start as circulation improves
• A sense of calm and wellbeing emerges and pain relief is often immediate.

Because Bowen works in short sequences with deliberate pauses, it gives the nervous system time to process each signal, making it deeply effective for people who have been “stuck” in fight-or-flight for years.

In essence, Bowen Therapy helps re-train the body to recognise safety — a crucial step in breaking cycles of chronic pain, stress, or trauma.

Bowen is so gentle and effective on everyone, especially babies. I love treating babies as they are so responsive and really enjoy their treatments. This is one of the beautiful babies I love treating, she is so relaxed at this point with her arms and legs outstretched and sound asleep on my table.
