Meet Zay– Accredited Practising Dietitian
📍Servicing the Ipswich and Strathpine regions

Zay is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian who graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. His passion for health and nutrition was shaped by years of surfing, boxing and strength training, experiences that taught him how powerful food can be in supporting not just performance, but overall wellbeing.

He believes that good nutrition goes beyond physical results, it supports mental health, energy and disease prevention, forming the cornerstone of a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.

His main areas of interest include:

This month's walk is an extra important walk, as Travis will be aiming to walk 60 kilometres this month to raise money for Men's mental health through the Movember foundation, and this walk will help him reach his goal of walking 60kms. He would love more walkers to join him for the next walk at Lowood and show their support for the cause, so if you can make it your support will be greatly appreciated. For every person that comes to the walk on Thursday, Travis will personally donate $5 to the Movember foundation.

Brady will also shave off his mo at the end of the month if we raise over $300 and Josh will shave his beard off if we raise $2500.

During menopause, declining estrogen levels can lead to bone loss. Calcium is key—but how you take it matters. Here's a quick guide:
🦴 Calcium Carbonate – Most common and affordable. Needs to be taken with food for better absorption.
Calcium Citrate – Easier to absorb and doesn’t require food. Great for those who need to take calcium on the go (or leave it in your car)
🌞 Why Vitamin D?
Many calcium supplements include vitamin D because it helps your body absorb calcium more effectively.
🌿 Why Vitamin K?

🦴 Menopause & Calcium: Are You Getting Enough?
Did you know that 73% of Australian women aren’t getting enough calcium in their diet? That’s a big deal — especially post-menopause, when calcium needs jump to 1300 mg/day to help prevent osteopenia and osteoporosis (aka brittle bones).
Even if you’re taking vitamin D, it won’t help much unless you’re also getting enough calcium from food.
💡 Here’s a quick cheat sheet:
🥛 1 cup milk = 300 mg calcium
🍦 160g yoghurt = 300 mg calcium
🥜 1 handful almonds = 100 mg calcium
That’s 4.3 cups of milk a day to hit the target — or a mix of dairy, nuts, and leafy greens.

Kaityln is an ESSA-accredited Exercise Physiologist, dedicated to helping people achieve lasting health improvements through evidence-based exercise and lifestyle intervention. With a strong background in chronic disease management, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and neurological care, she is passionate about empowering clients to live healthier, more independent lives.

Kaityln has developed and delivered programs for chronic disease management, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and neurological conditions.

Beyond the clinic, Kaityln is motivated by opportunities to contribute to community health outreach and chronic disease prevention, particularly in diabetes care and healthy ageing.
