So while the trusty old Transtar was in at Heyfield Truck and Diesel last week for some routine maintenance we had no choice but put our little Kenny to work carting machines so we could continue to get a driveway in town done.

Although the idea for purchacing the 359 kenworth was to cart bulk materials little did I know it would be possible to get both the posi and 3.5t digger loaded together when we purchased it. The semi tipper is 300mm higher in the body, so loading up the ramps was interestingly steep 🫣 but the overall height was under the max height of 4.3 meters by 100mm 👏

This is definitely a win for us now knowing we can keep on keeping on if ever the Transtar is out on another job or in for servicing 🤙

Busy short week for us, pumping out the work trying to catch up 😬. Some fencing down at the wetlands and a new pathway, a gate fitted into a new fence line out at the Lake Glenmaggie Holiday Park, some footings drilled for bollard installation at the Heyfield Hospital to keep cars away from the generators, some slashing and a new driveway dug out and prepped for 60tonne recycled concrete for next week and what ever I’ve forgotten to mention.

Scrolling through our posts and it seems it’s been all about the Great Wall of Sale, however there has been many other jobs squeezed in during the 4 weeks we spent working on the wall. Carted machines around from Llowalong to Nambrok, dug 4 graves at the Heyfield cemetery (😢) , a driveway in Heyfield, some more work out at the Glenmaggie Holiday Park, carted loads of gravel here, there and everywhere, preped the big case for a list of slashing jobs coming up and more I’ve forgotten to mention.

For now my feet are up and I’m having 4 days off - first long weekend off in 4 years. I hope others get to do the same 😀

All done. Over 200 meters, 30 cubes of concrete for the footings, 150 posts,
350 sleepers some drainage and we are done. Looking forward to a long weekend off and getting back into our local work. Apologies to those customers patiently waiting for us - this job took longer than expected. We are doing our best to keep up with the work load and have plenty right into next year.

Been a fantastic experience working at the second biggest Bunnings store in Victoria building the biggest retaining wall we have built (for now 🥵) and we thank Tandem Building Group for having us.

Thanks to the boys Beau and Cody for all their hard work too - there is no way I was doing this job on my own.

It’s been a seriously busy 2 weeks for us here at the new Bunnings in Sale - that busy I haven’t even bothered with any form of social media. I’ve had a few people asking how things are going so I’ll post a few pics up that I’ve taken along the way. I’d say another 3 full days and we will be outa there! 🤙
