Atticus Health and Mark & Sylvie's was pleased to host a special presentation for the Willow Lodge community in Bangholme. We welcomed a vibrant group of residents to discuss staying independent, mobile and supported at home to proactively avoid hospital stays.

The afternoon connected residents with local experts. Liam from Homeable demonstrated smart home modifications, while Dr Dudi Spicer discussed his specialised aged care and home visit services. Hoda Palizian also introduced her psychology services, providing vital mental health support directly to the community.

We were heartened by the strong attendance and the chance to connect over refreshments. This initiative reflects our mission across all Atticus clinics: bringing essential care to the heart of our communities

On behalf of Mark & Sylvie's Home Care, we wish all our staff, clients, their families and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. A year goes by quickly. So taking stock of the day, the moment, means a lot. Thank you for all the moments of your life, in 2025 that you shared with us. Including last Friday at our Christmas lunch. A fun day indeed, and quickly has become a permanent fixture!

We also thank all our staff for continuing care over this period. It surely takes a team to make it all happen.

Here's to a safe end of year and holiday season. And whether you've been naughty or nice - have fun! ;)

We are pleased to introduce Hoda Palizian, our AHPRA-registered General Psychologist and NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner!

Hoda brings over a decade of experience, specialising in person-centred and trauma-informed care for children, adolescents, and adults with complex psychosocial needs, neurodivergence, and trauma histories.

A champion of accessible support, Hoda is also a trilingual practitioner, fluent in English, Farsi and Kurdish.

Her focus is on empowerment, collaboration, and driving sustainable, positive change. We are delighted to have her expertise on the team!

What a festive and heartwarming Christmas Lunch we had this week at our Bargara Hub! 🎄✨ Our clients had a wonderful time catching up with friends from previous social days, and it was fantastic introducing them to the new staff who have come aboard this year.

The atmosphere was set with classic Christmas tunes from the '50s, '60s, and '70s! Guests enjoyed a delicious spread of roast chicken, freshly carved ham, and old-school desserts like Eton mess, Lion's Christmas cake with custard, and Liquorice slice. We also celebrated two special birthdays!

A huge thank you to Jan, the wife of our client Barry, for her beautiful and moving speech. Her appreciation for the team's caring and dedicated effort—and for always going the extra mile for clients—means the world to us. It was a perfect day of food, friendship, and festive cheer, brought to you by the wonderful Bargara team!

Michelle, originally from England, grew up with music flowing through her family. Her late mother was a singer, and her late father was a pianist who worked hard in a factory by day and played pubs by night—often with Michelle in tow. The Mark and Sylvie’s Bargara team was out learning ! 👋

Tegan and Marnie represented us at the fantastic Turning the Tides Clinical Societies event, hosted by Primary Health Network Wide Bay in collaboration with Country to Coast.

It was an invaluable day spent learning from local Dementia specialists, including OTs, the BlueCare Dementia Specialist, Dementia Australia, and Bundaberg's only Geriatrician, Dr. Leo!

This specialised education deepened our understanding of:

- The signs and symptoms of early-onset Dementia.
- Clear referral pathways for support.
- Detailed explanations of the 4 most common types of Dementia.

We are committed to bringing this high level of informed, compassionate, and specialised care back to our clients and their families in Bargara and the surrounding region.
