One of my beloved daughters and I just made this crystal mandala. Giving time and space for this creative process was about making something special. We honoured our space, collaborated in the creative process and played together.
💎
This table is the hearth of our house. We sit on cushions around it and make art, eat, talk, laugh, cry and all of the things. At times like these it feels particularly important to make something special. 🙏🏼
💎
Have you created something special for yourself lately? I’d love to hear about it. Feel free to share. 💙

One thing I’ve noticed at the moment is that it’s challenging to plan for the immediate future.
There’s no doubt that having something to look forward to evokes positive feelings. So I thought let’s cultivate 🌱 some anticipation of things to come! This was the seed for a vision/action board workshop.
🌱
Through the use of collage and whatever other materials we had on hand we spent two hours together co-creating and laying dreams, hopes, wishes and intentions onto our boards.
🌱
“Looking at images on a vision board primes the brain to grasp opportunities that may otherwise have gone unnoticed. That's because the brain has a process called "value-tagging," which imprints important things onto your subconscious and filters out unnecessary information. The brain assigns a higher "value" to images than written words on a "to-do" list”
- Dr. Tara Swart, psychiatrist and neuroscientist

The Victorian State Government's Mental Health Practitioners in Schools Initiative Information for Schools FAQ sheet states "there are known workforce supply shortages in the mental health sector".

There is an untapped workforce of trained Mental Health Practitioners who are ready and willing to participate in supporting the community - Arts Therapists.

If you believe in the power of Art Therapy please 🙏🏼 sign this petition. It was created by Dr Carla Van Laar to support an urgent revision of the definition of Mental Health Practitioner in the 2014 Victorian Mental Health Act to include 'Professional Arts Therapist'. The pandemic has a particular language.
The guy’s eyes are behind bars,
because that’s how I feel.
We’ve all been in a prison,
waiting to breakout.
That’s all we saw.... people in masks.
We’ve all learnt a new language.. we’ve learnt it...we speak it.

Artist’s words and representation used with permission. Zoom in on this image, amplify it. What do you see? What words resonate with you?

“To be nobody-but-yourself —in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else — means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.”
- E.E. Cummings
Who are we and what do we stand for?
♥️Thank you dear ones for your willingness to journey inward and explore the authentic self🙏🏼

Dear ones, if you are crafty and don’t know how you can help with bushfire relief please consider joining the Animal Rescue Craft Guild. A craft guild that creates items for animal rescue efforts around Australia. Part of the Animal Rescue Relief community. 100% volunteer run and items and all items are donated free of charge to rescues.

I will be holding a free therapeutic arts group for a small number of people to collaborate for this cause. All you need to bring is materials. Please comment if you’re interested and are Melbourne based. Details to come.
