Brett’s Journey to the Special Olympics! 🎳 🌟

Brett is representing Queensland in tenpin bowling at the upcoming Special Olympics in Melbourne this October 2026. It's a huge achievement built on dedication, courage, and belief in himself.

At Horizon Community Services, support is all about encouraging, empowering, and walking alongside participants as they chase their goals, big or small.

Our social art classes are returning this March 2026 🤩 and we’re excited to welcome new craft classes too! ✨

These sessions are designed especially for NDIS participants who want a relaxed, supportive space to explore creativity, build confidence, and connect with others.

How Horizon Community Services supports participants through art:

Horizon Community Services is currently looking for a male support worker with experience supporting high-intensity participants, including those with complex behaviours.

We’re seeking someone who:
✔ Has experience working alongside Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP/BSP)
✔ Certificate III/IV in Individual Support
✔ Holds relevant NDIS worker screening, qualifications, and training
✔ Is confident, calm, and consistent in high-intensity support environments
✔ Can work collaboratively with families, behaviour practitioners, and the wider team

At Horizon Community Services, support isn’t just about having someone alongside you.

It’s about helping participants get to know themselves — their preferences, choices, boundaries, and the things that don’t work for them.

Our support workers don’t simply listen and follow along. They support with purpose: noticing patterns, encouraging reflection, and helping everyday experiences turn into learning moments that build confidence and independence over time.

Progress doesn’t always come from big goals. Often, it comes from small, honest choices made day by day. 💚

This week marked a big step forward for Natalie as she began her beauty course💄✨

With the right support in place, Natalie attended her appointments, made it to class on time, and started her journey into a field she’s excited about.

Starting something new isn’t always easy, but showing up is powerful. We’re proud of Natalie for taking this step and continuing to move forward at her own pace.

Here’s to new skills, new routines, and believing in what’s possible! 💚

Today is a moment to reflect on what community truly means — belonging, connection, and respect for one another.

At HCS, we see Australia Day as a reminder that everyone deserves to feel included and supported in their own way. Community doesn’t look the same for everyone, and that’s okay. Some people celebrate quietly, some spend time with family, some enjoy being out and about, and some simply take the day as it comes.

We’re proud to support people to live life on their terms, with choice, flexibility, and understanding at the centre. 💙
