Enhanced Lifestyles

Enhanced Lifestyles Disability support the way it should be. By you, for you. Adelaide, Riverland and Limestone Coast.

Over thirty years ago, a group of people living with disability realised that no one was better equipped to choose the kind of support they needed than themselves. Honing their knowledge and skills, together they became architects and builders of their own individualised disability services. Today, Enhanced Lifestyles remains a member-governed not-for-profit, our Board is comprised of people who use our services. By designing support services based on lived experience, we deliver the services people want to live life the way they choose.

Today is Rare Disease Day.

Rare Disease Day is a globally coordinated movement dedicated to rare diseases, striving for equity in social opportunities, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease.

Since its creation in 2008, Rare Disease Day has played a crucial role in building an international rare disease community - multi-disease, global, and diverse, yet united in purpose.

300 million people worldwide live with a rare disease. That’s 5% of the world’s population. Today, we stand with them, raise awareness, and work toward a more inclusive and equitable future.

Our first Member Advisory Group (MAG) meeting for 2026 took place recently. This year is shaping up to be an exciting one and we are grateful to have our MAG members with us to help us make Enhanced Lifestyles even more customer focused and ensure that we are embodying our By You, For You message.

Along with the appointment of our new MAG Chair, Lynn Ellison last year, we are absolutely delighted to share that Gavin Maxwell has joined us as the Vice-Chair of the MAG and we have welcomed new member, Anthony, aboard. Please join us in welcoming Lynn, Gavin and Anthony to their new roles within the Member Advisory Group.

The Member Advisory Group was created by a customer and past Chair of the Enhanced Lifestyles Board as a means for customers to provide input and feedback on a topic in the context of our organisation. Simply put, it is a forum for members to affect change that benefits other customers.

Interested in joining the MAG? All Enhanced Lifestyles customers are welcome to apply to join. Get in touch today for more information!

Last week we had the pleasure of attending the DEC West Adelaide and Adelaide South Disability Expos.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow disability support providers, exchange insights, and strengthen partnerships across our sector. It was especially great to run into Carly from DLi and James from Just Living and chat about all things disability support.

Our Funding and Engagement Coordinator Isaac even got to try his hand at Amputee Soccer which was super fun!

If you are interested in learning more about the Amputee Soccer Federation Australia , head over to their page and check it out 👉 https://www.facebook.com/p/Amputee-Soccer-Federation-Australia-61574478860772/

A big thank you to The Disability Events Community - The DEC for creating such valuable spaces for collaboration. We're already looking forward to the next event!

Our Senior Leadership team recently met for a Strategic Planning Day to discuss ways we can continue striving for excellence in the sector, strategies for collaboration amongst the team and in the sector and identify opportunities for improvement in our processes.

It was great to be able to meet as a group and talk not only to evaluate the landscape of the disability support sector, but remind ourselves that as a team we have an awesome opportunity to continue making a positive contribution and impact.

"Thank you to our Senior Leadership Team and all employees for your hard work and dedication throughout our strategic planning process. The planning process has been a valuable opportunity to collaborate, refine our key objectives, and shape the future direction of EL. Your compassion, commitment, and collective effort are truly appreciated."
- CEO, Jane Huscroft.

✨ Welcoming Our New Board Members ✨
We are incredibly grateful to each of our Board Members, both new and continuing, for generously contributing their time, experience and commitment to Enhanced Lifestyles and proving disability support the way it should be - By You, For You.

Our five newly appointed Board Members bring exceptional expertise across clinical governance, executive leadership, not‑for‑profit organisations, commercial enterprises, law and strategic governance. Their collective insight will be invaluable as we shape our organisational direction and ensure we continue to meet all legal, ethical and financial obligations.

Most importantly, this leadership strengthens our mission: to deliver high‑quality, individualised disability services that are guided by our members and focused on meaningful outcomes.

A Heartfelt Thank You
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks and recognition to our outgoing Treasurer, Nick Lopez, who has stepped away from the Board after more than three years of dedicated service.
Throughout his tenure, he made a significant contribution to strengthening our financial management, transparency and accountability. His steady guidance helped support the organisation through key periods of change, and his dedication to our mission has been deeply appreciated by both the Board and the Executive team.

Morning Tea with a Twist: Ceramic Painting at Pottering Around

Our first customer event for 2026 was a hit! We went to Pottering Around in Semaphore and had a lovely time connecting while painting some ceramic pieces.

Here’s what some of our attendees had to say:
💬 “I enjoyed the fact that this event was casual, calm and chill.”
💬 “The pottery event was fantastic! Everyone seemed to enjoy creating something they can take home.”
💬 “I would recommend! It's good to be creative and interact with everybody.”
💬 “I'm going to come back and do some more painting!"

Thank you to everyone who attended. It’s these moments of connection that make a lasting impact.

New Blog: Customer Spotlight - Taren Cox

Three years ago, Taren was scrolling on Instagram and came across an advertisement for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Super Swim and thought to herself “I like swimming, I can try that!” Now in 2026, Taren is doing her third Super Swim, aiming to swim 14 kilometres and raise $500 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation this February.
