Over thirty years ago, a group of people living with disability realised that no one was better equipped to choose the kind of support they needed than themselves. Honing their knowledge and skills, together they became architects and builders of their own individualised disability services. Today, Enhanced Lifestyles remains a member-governed not-for-profit, our Board is comprised of people who use our services. By designing support services based on lived experience, we deliver the services people want to live life the way they choose.

Today is Remembrance Day, a day of national commemoration. On this day at 11am, Australians pause in silence for a minute to remember the bravery and sacrifice of the people who lost their lives while serving Australia and its allies in wars, conflicts and peace operations.

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Enhanced Lifestyles is looking for a committed and experienced Clinical Nurse to become a vital part of our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, developing, and delivering training programs for our dedicated support staff, ensuring that our care meets the highest clinical standards and aligns with the needs of those we serve.

We are also seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team and support our customers. At Enhanced Lifestyles, we refer to our disability support workers as Lifestyle Attendants - a term that reflects our customer-centred approach and the independence of our customers in managing their lifestyles. Whether supporting customers at home, in the community, or adapting to their changing routines, our Lifestyle Attendants provide personalised, respectful assistance tailored to each individual's needs and goals. Recently, Enhanced Lifestyles Board Member Peter Barney had the opportunity to present at the NDIS Providers Summit in Sydney.

He covered topics such as rising operational costs, NDIS price cap limits, preparation for long-term financial resilience in the sector and identified sustainable strategies that providers can adopt to remain financially viable if price caps fail to keep pace with inflation.

We’re seeking new Directors to replace retiring members and expand our Board. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who share our vision for inclusive, person-led support. Lived experience with disability is highly valued but not essential.

Governance, executive, or leadership experience
Expertise in one or more of the following areas
Finance, accounting
Health, nursing or clinical
Human Resources, Law or industrial relations
Disability or aged care services
Not for profit operations/leadership or governance

You must have a collaborative and inclusive approach with a commitment to disability rights and community participation.

Last week we had a fabulous time at the Adelaide Disability, Ageing and Lifestyle (DAL) Expo. It was great to get amongst the positive atmosphere and meet so many new faces. We loved chatting to those who visited us at our stall and enjoyed seeing some familiar faces too!
