Over thirty years ago, a group of people living with disability realised that no one was better equipped to choose the kind of support they needed than themselves. Honing their knowledge and skills, together they became architects and builders of their own individualised disability services. Today, Enhanced Lifestyles remains a member-governed not-for-profit, our Board is comprised of people who use our services. By designing support services based on lived experience, we deliver the services people want to live life the way they choose.

🎉🤩 Bright shirts, big smiles! We’re celebrating International Fun at Work Day by embracing colour, fun patterns and all sorts of loud shirts!

Today is all about reminding ourselves of the importance of joy and laughter in the workplace. The average person spends approximately one third of their life at work - that's a lot of time! So today we recognise the value of fun in fostering a positive work environment. Days like this are a great reminder that while we work hard, it’s just as important to take moments to connect, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate the people who make our workplace what it is.

To all of our Lifestyle Attendants, Regional and Head Office staff, thank you for embracing the spirit of the day so wholeheartedly and helping create a vibrant, uplifting environment for all.

On Friday, we had a fabulous time at the Mt Gambier Disability, Ageing and Lifestyle (DAL) Expo. It was great to get amongst the positive atmosphere and meet some new faces. We loved chatting to those who visited us at our stall and enjoyed seeing some familiar faces too!

Last Thursday, we hosted a Winter Paralympics themed lunch for our Mt Gambier customers. Our customers enjoyed watching some of the Paralympic events together, supporting the Aussies from afar. We couldn't help but be inspired by the strength, determination and grit of our Australian Paralympians.

We are delighted to announce that Louise Braybon has been appointed as the new Chair of the Enhanced Lifestyles Board. As a customer, a Board member and committed member of our community, Louise’s leadership reinforces our identity as a truly member‑governed organisation. We are incredibly grateful to Louise for taking on this role and generously contributing her time, experience and commitment to Enhanced Lifestyles and providing disability support the way it should be - By You, For You.

Louise believes that her purpose on Earth is to open people’s eyes and minds to the reality of living with a disability; she wants to prove that anyone can achieve anything they set their mind to. One of Louise’s dreams is to ‘pay it forward’ and use her lived experience to mentor someone who could use some guidance in the pursuit of their goals. Louise relishes any opportunity to educate, empower, and inspire and hopes to do so in her position as Chair.

Last week we attended the Lunch, Learn & Connect: SDA and SIL Insights with Greg Barry - Principal Consultant and Founder at SDA Services Pty Ltd, in partnership with Vera Living and Claro.

It was great to hear about the processes and data insights involved in SDA and SIL housing and learn from Industry professionals about how partnerships and house builds work.

It was lovely to meet up with Karen Wilkinson from Assured Care Solutions and Belinda Dahan from NDSP as well!

The takeaway? Collaboration is key for SIL growth, and participants definitely benefit from the industry coming together.

Thank you to all involved in putting on this event - the insights we gained were very valuable.

🌟 Celebrating International Women’s Day at Enhanced Lifestyles 🌟

This International Women’s Day, Enhanced Lifestyles is proud to acknowledge the incredible women who shape our organisation and our community every day, from our CEO, Jane Huscroft, to the women on our Board and advisory groups, our executive and management team, to our corporate staff, support workers, and the women we support through our services.

We also recognise and celebrate the many women who provide care in both paid and unpaid capacities. Whether supporting loved ones, family members, friends, or their broader communities, these women demonstrate extraordinary resilience, compassion, and strength. Their contribution is vital, often unseen, and deeply valued.

Today, we also mark a historic milestone for our organisation.

Jane Huscroft is the first woman to lead Enhanced Lifestyles as CEO in our 30+ year history.

While women have previously served as Chair of the Board, this is the first time a woman has held the top executive role.

Her leadership is defined by passion, commitment, and a drive for continuous improvement. With a focus on stability, strong governance, and empowering others, she is guiding Enhanced Lifestyles into an exciting new era, one grounded in collaboration, innovation, and lived experience.

On this International Women’s Day, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the women across our organisation and community who lead, care, advocate, and inspire.
