Meet Claire, your new Studio Owner

Claire starts formally as Studio Owner on Monday March 2nd. For now, a few words from Claire ...

I began practising Bikram Yoga in early 2006 and quickly experienced its positive, life-changing impact. Inspired to help others transform through yoga, I completed the official Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in 2012. Since then, I have taught in more than 54 studios around the world.

I’ve been mentored by some of the most respected and accomplished teachers in the Bikram Yoga community, and I am proud to now be a highly regarded member of that community myself.

I teach from the heart, with integrity, kindness and wisdom. I connect warmly with my students to encourage and inspire them. I will be bringing a fresh and highly professional approach to The Hot Room.

Through many years of consistent practice and professional learning, I have developed a deep understanding of the techniques and mechanics of Bikram Yoga. I love sharing this knowledge with students of all levels and am especially skilled at recognising individual strengths and capabilities, ensuring that everyone - regardless of physical ability - can embrace Bikram Yoga and experience its lifelong benefits. This brings me immense joy!

I am well known for the quality of my Bikram Yoga posture workshops, the effectiveness of the private lessons I offer, and the constructive, supportive way I mentor fellow Bikram Yoga teachers.

I wholeheartedly look forward to being part of your Bikram Yoga journey as the new owner and facilitator of The Hot Room - sharing the expertise and passion I have gained, nurturing the business and its community, and moving forward together!

The time has come for me to say goodbye to The Hot Room.

It’s been a big beautiful & sometimes scary ride that began quite some years ago as a tiny seed planted in my heart & mind. That seed has now sprouted & cemented itself in the yoga world, fully grown & flourishing, staking its claim amongst the other studios of Hobart.

I am so very proud of this studio. More proud though of the teachers & the community who have had full unwavering belief in it. My love & thanks to everyone involved with The Hot Room in whatever capacity at whatever stage.

My congratulations to the new owner Claire Drury, who will bring her own energy, brightness & drive to take The Hot Room to the next level & beyond.

As for me, well, the time has come for me to step back & allow myself some time to just be. To live calmly & peacefully for a good while before I engage with my next chapter.

I will see you on the mat when the time is right.

I leave with a heart full of gratitude, love & appreciation & and knowing that ‘all beautiful things must end, otherwise they are not beautiful’ 🥰🤗

Here’s a little bit about her

Hi! My name is Jasmijn. I’ve been teaching the Bikram Yoga Series for 3.5 years now, and I absolutely love the journey it set me on. Generally based in Amsterdam, where I regularly teach and work on my PhD, I also get to travel the world and see beautiful places, combined with teaching and practicing yoga and meeting fellow yogis around the world!
