~POP UP PERFORMANCE WITH WILL~

The Royal Hobart Hospital’s foyer is transformed by the sound of Will Parsell’s guitar. You can feel the mood shift as the sound of live music drifts through the hospital - from busy and clinical, to joyful and curious.

If you would like to see more music in health care settings, please consider making a donation at www.inscape.org.au/donate

~ PAINTING THE VIEW ~

“It’s just so relaxing, it doesn’t even really matter what it looks like in the end”.

This week artist clairependrigh worked with patients in the Royal Hobart Hospital, making paintings inspired by the views we can see from the hospital windows.

~ EXHIBITION BY ONE OF OUR INSCAPE ARTISTS ~
Inscape Artist Rebecca Coot is part of a beautiful exhibition at Social Gallery in Salamanca. It’s the last weekend to see it, so make sure you check it out!

All three artists have an active engagement and connection with their environment which can be seen through the different mediums of painting, drawing and sculpture. They convey on canvas, paper or through three dimensional works a common thread, a passion for where they live.

We had a wonderful day showing Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania a bit of what we do today! We visited the wards together with our musicians, enjoyed a pop up performance in the hospital foyer, presented Her Excellency with a life scape painting and wrapped up the day with art at the Roy Fagan Centre. We are so happy to be able to share what we do!

~ ENLIVENING 5A WITH ART BY STAFF ~

Inscape artist Rebecca Coote (rebecca.coote.art) with new artworks enlivening the walls of the Royal Hobart Hospital’s Acute Older Person’s ward on 5A. These works were created by 5A staff over 3 days of lunchtime workshops with Rebecca. During their lunch breaks, around 18 staff members took part in the workshops, creating these stunning gel-plate prints. We are so excited to see them proudly displayed on the walls where everyone can enjoy them!

~ THANK YOU 2025 ~

As 2025 draws to a close, we're reflecting on another incredible year of bringing art and music into the heart of healthcare in Tasmania. From bedside visits to workshops for hospital staff, from Life-Scape illustrations to pop-up musical performances, our programs have touched countless lives at the Royal Hobart Hospital and beyond.

To the patients, families, and healthcare staff that have worked with us - thank you for welcoming creativity into your days. Your stories and smiles remind us why this work matters.

To our talented artists and musicians – you are the heart of Inscape. Your compassion, skill, and dedication create moments of joy, comfort, and connection when they're needed most.

And to our generous donors and partners – we couldn't do this without you! Your support enables us to maintain these vital programs.

As we look toward 2026, we need your help to continue this work. Art and music aren't luxuries in healthcare – they're essential. Every donation helps bring care through creativity.

~ PAINTING FOR MARIE ~

Inscape artist Claire Pendrigh (clairependrigh) recently made this painting for Marie, who met her husband on the Princess of Tasmania, traveling from Devonport to Melbourne.

By depicting and celebrating significant moments from lives well lived, Inscape artists create opportunities for self expression and for people to tell their own stories.

~ PRINTING FROM NATURE ~

Inscape artist Rebecca Coote (.coote.art) recently worked with Leah, a patient in the Royal Hobart Hospital, to make these stunning prints from leaves! What a beautiful way to bring a little bit of nature into the hospital environment.
