✨ Recapping a Big November! ✨

November was a huge month of professional development for our team. Not only did we host our quarterly Professional Development (CPD) afternoon, but several of our clinical staff also attended the Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) National Conference.

We were especially proud to see our very own Jaryd Bourke (Podiatrist) take the stage and present part of his PhD research.
A fantastic achievement and a testament to the dedication and expertise within our organisation.

Here’s to continuous learning, growing together, and delivering the highest standard of care for our community. 🙌📚💙

Important Notice – early clinic closure tomorrow (Thursday 13th November)

Please note that our Launceston, New Town, Hobart Podiatry, Rosny Park, Salamanca & Kingston clinics will be closing early tomorrow (from 3pm) so our clinical team can attend integral professional development.

We’re committed to continually improving our service and care — and this training ensures we’re delivering the very best for our clients.

📞 If you call after 3pm, you’re welcome to leave a voicemail on the clinic reception phone. Our team will return all messages when we reopen on Friday morning during usual clinic hours.

**Please be aware our Burnie & Huonville clinics will remain open, so if you have an appointment scheduled tomorrow afternoon- it will be going ahead as planned.

🌟 We’re Hiring! 🌟

Our Home Care Department is looking for a friendly and organised Receptionist to join the team! This position is based in New Town, working 3 days a week with 6-hour shifts — making it perfect for someone looking for school hours.

We’re looking for someone with great communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in supporting our clients and team. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential, and experience with aged care or home care packages is a great benefit. 💙

There is also the opportunity for career development, and the right candidate could progress to a practice manager role in the future.

Start date will be early December 2025 & the hourly rate will be discussed upon application.

👋 Welcome to the team, Matt!

We’re excited to have Matt join our Burnie clinic as our newest Physiotherapist! 🎉

Matt graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2025 after first completing a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science. During his placements, he gained experience across a wide range of settings — including musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, medical, aged-care, and neurorehabilitation — which sparked his passion for helping people stay active and independent.

He has a special interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and loves using exercise-based approaches to support recovery and promote long-term health.

Outside of work, you’ll find Matt at the gym, out bushwalking, or playing music. 🎶🏋️‍♂️🌿

Are you friendly, organised, and love helping people? We have an exciting opportunity for a casual Receptionist to join our Leap Health team!

This is a flexible position with no set weekly hours — ideal for someone who can cover sick days, annual leave, or university placements for our existing reception team. You’ll be working across multiple Leap Health clinic locations, so a current driver’s licence is essential. 🚗

As the first point of contact for our patients, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming and professional environment.

✨ Your key duties will include:
- Greeting and assisting patients in person and over the phone with warmth and professionalism
- Managing appointment bookings and clinician schedules
- Processing payments and handling Medicare, DVA, and private health claims
- Supporting our clinicians with administrative tasks
- Maintaining accurate patient records and clinic documentation
- Contributing to a positive, team-focused workplace

We’re looking for someone who is:

⛳ Ben Hayes, one of New Town’s dedicated physiotherapists, is taking on an incredible challenge as part of The Longest Day golf fundraiser!

After a few years of helping behind the scenes and only sneaking in one round, Ben is stepping up in a big way — committing to walk the full distance (that’s about 47,000 yards!) in one day to raise awareness and funds for a great cause.

And he hasn’t picked an easy course either — no shortcuts, no flat fairways… just a full day of golfing grit!

Ben is incredibly proud to be part of the Tasmania Golf Club
which has consistently ranked among the top fundraisers over the past few years.

It’s inspiring to see so many friends, players, and supporters come together for something bigger than the game itself.

🌟 Welcome to the Team, Jane! 🌟

We’re thrilled to welcome Jane Thomas to the Leap Health family! Jane is joining our HomeCare team on Wednesdays, and you can also find her at our Salamanca clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 🙌

Jane brings over 20 years of experience as an outpatient-based physiotherapist, with a career that’s taken her from the Pilbara and Kimberley regions of WA, to Launceston and now back to Hobart where she’s made her home.

After completing her Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) at Curtin University in 1996, Jane has developed deep expertise in helping people recover from:
✅ Fractures
✅ Orthopaedic surgery
✅ Sporting injuries
✅ Joint, muscle & tendon conditions

She has a real passion for keeping people moving well, especially supporting older adults to stay active and independent in their own homes.

With a special interest in cycling biomechanics, Jane also loves helping cyclists optimise performance and bike fit 🚴‍♀️

Outside of work, Jane enjoys tearing up the trails on her mountain and gravel bikes, and spending time with her family and their tabby cat. 🐾

We're thrilled to welcome Tahlia as the newest member of our team!

Originally from Launceston, Tahlia completed her Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Physiotherapy Practice at La Trobe University in Bendigo, graduating in 2022. After gaining valuable experience in the public health system throughout 2023, she made the move to Hobart in 2024 to pursue her passion for private practice.

Tahlia has a keen interest in treating shoulder, neck, and lower back pain, and takes a thoughtful, client-centred approach to care. She’s passionate about helping people build confidence in their movement and get back to doing the things they love.

With over 10 years of gym experience, Tahlia brings a strong practical understanding of movement and performance to her practice. Outside the clinic, she runs her own dog walking and pet sitting business, and loves combining her active lifestyle with her love for animals.
