💫 Welcome to our newest physiotherapist: Hayley Hechter 💫

Hayley is originally from Cape Town, South Africa, and completed her physiotherapy studies at Stellenbosch University, graduating at the end of 2024. During her training, she had the opportunity to work at a rural clinic where she was involved in home visits within the local community.

Hayley has a strong interest in sports physiotherapy and, during her final year of study, completed an advanced practical placement focusing on sports-based physiotherapy in a private practice setting.

Outside of work, she is passionate about the outdoors and loves anything that gets her moving! Hayley enjoys hiking, running, playing hockey, and spending time in nature. She is happiest when she is in or near the ocean or having a barbeque with her family and friends.

Please join us in giving a big welcome to Rose as the newest member of the Leap Health Coastal Physiotherapy team 🌊🎉

Rose completed her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of New England in Armidale, NSW in 2025. She’s passionate about supporting people of all ages to manage their conditions in a safe, supportive environment, using holistic, evidence-based care. Rose enjoys working closely with individuals to develop tailored approaches that improve functional capacity and overall quality of life.

She’s eager to continue expanding her knowledge and skills across all areas of practice, with particular interests in women’s health, chronic disease and injury management, neurological conditions, and lifestyle management.

Originally from near the Gold Coast, Rose relocated to North-West Tasmania in 2021.
Outside of work, she enjoys horse riding, snowboarding, camping, hiking, cooking, and spending time in her vegetable garden 🌱🥕

🎟️ Ticket to Wellbeing – Stage 2 Now Open! 🎟️

The Tasmanian Government has confirmed that Stage 2 of the 2025–26 trial Ticket to Wellbeing program is now open! These vouchers can be utislised against our group exercise classes at Burnie, Launceston, New Town, Rosny Park and Kingston.

💙 About the program
The Ticket to Wellbeing program helps reduce the cost of sport and active recreation memberships and registrations for eligible older Tasmanians, supporting active, healthy lifestyles.

⚠️ Please note: If you received a voucher in Stage 1 (October 2025), you are not eligible to apply again in this stage.

👥 Who can apply?
You may be eligible if you:
✔️ Live in Tasmania
✔️ Are 65 years or older
✔️ Hold a Services Australia Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card

🎫 What’s included?
Eligible applicants can apply for a $100 voucher to use towards sport and active recreation membership and/or registration costs.
• Vouchers are limited
• Applications will close once all vouchers are allocated
• Vouchers must be used with an Approved Activity Provider by 5 June 2026

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Ara has officially earned the title of APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist - a nationally recognised title awarded by the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Ara has over 14 years of experience working across elite, semi-elite, and development sport. He holds a Master’s degree in Sports & Exercise Physiotherapy from La Trobe University and is also an ASCA Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach.

His training and clinical placements have included high-performance environments in basketball and cricket, alongside international exposure through internships with the Sri Lanka Men’s Cricket Team and work alongside the Singapore Netball Team’s physiotherapist. These experiences have shaped a strong, evidence-based approach to athlete care.

Ara enjoys injury prevention, return-to-play rehabilitation, and performance-focused physiotherapy, helping athletes bridge the gap between rehab and performance so they return stronger, faster, and more resilient.

He works with individual athletes, sporting teams, and organisations seeking high-quality, results-driven sports physiotherapy support.

🎉 Welcome to Leap Health, Andrew Berry! 🎉

We’re excited to welcome Andrew Berry to the Leap Health team, now seeing clients across our Kingston and Salamanca clinics.

Andrew is a dedicated physiotherapist with a unique blend of clinical expertise and athletic passion. A graduate of the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa), he holds a degree in Physiotherapy alongside a BSc in Biological Sciences. His experience spans both government hospitals and private practice, including time here in Tasmania.

An avid triathlete and cyclist, Andrew brings firsthand insight into athletic performance and recovery. He has represented South Africa at the 2023 World Championships and is also an experienced triathlon coach, making him a fantastic addition for both active individuals and everyday movers alike.
