Relationships Australia Tasmania (RA Tas) supports Tasmanians to build stronger relationships and healthier communities. We offer a range of services, including counselling, mediation, and education programs to help individuals, couples, families, and workplaces navigate life’s challenges and find a way forward. Our services are inclusive, confidential, and welcoming to all. At RA Tas, we’re dedicated to building a more connected and respectful Tasmania, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Today we acknowledge the 16th anniversary of the National Apology to Forgotten Australians and Former Child Migrants, first delivered in 2009.

The National Apology recognised the deep harm suffered by Australian-born children and child migrants who were placed in institutional care, acknowledging the neglect, abuse and the lasting impact of being denied love, family and belonging.

This year, our remembrance carries special meaning as we come together to officially unveil the new Forgotten Australians Memorial at Tolosa Park, Glenorchy.

Created in partnership with Glenorchy City Council, the memorial is a place of healing and reflection, shaped by the voices of Forgotten Australians.

📅Wednesday 19 November
🕚11:00am – 1:00pm
📍Tolosa Park, Glenorchy, Forgotten Australians Memorial Site - all welcome.

Guests are invited to wear white as a symbol of solidarity and respect.

Today, and every day, we stand with all who were affected, honour their resilience, and commit to keeping their stories heard.

Tasmanians speak. We listen.

Through our 75 conversations in 75 places initiative, we heard from over 1600 Tasmanians. They told us what a connected and respectful community looks like.

Sometimes, it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference.

The sun appearing through the clouds.
A deep breath of fresh Tassie air.
A few kind words from someone who cares.

It’s Mental Health Week, let’s remember to appreciate the little things and look after ourselves and each other along the way.
