Today Foot Systems podiatrists Narelle & Madeleine had the great pleasure of showing their Japanese research colleagues from the Asics Institute of Sports Science how beautiful Tasmania is. Luckily the weather gods were kind!

The Asics team were in Hobart for the Sports Medicine Australia conference where they presented the results of a joint research project conducted at Foot Systems and at Asics headquarters in Japan.

Next week Narelle will be wearing two hats - presenting our AnatomiCore prototypes for feedback from our colleagues AND presenting for SEPA. It’s going to be busy!

Come along to the MSK Workshop by SEPA at the Australian Podiatry Conference on Saturday 28 June from 10am.

You will learn how to assess, educate and rehab your patients using some awesome tools from our trade displays with Dr. Narelle Wyndow, podiatrist, researcher, and People & Culture Director at Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australia.

Get excited to learn:

✔️ How plantar pressure tools can help with assessment, education (patients love it!), and strength training

✔️ The impact of specialised OA footwear (think: rearfoot vs forefoot rockers)

✔️ How electrical stimulation & TENS can help build strength and reduce pain

You’ll walk away with at least one clinical gem that’ll change how you practice.

📍 Don’t miss out – register to attend the Conference here: https://bit.ly/4bTlvMx

Your brain holds detailed maps that control movement.

These maps are shaped by the information coming in from your body — especially your feet. The more accurate and consistent that input, the more precise the brain’s instructions back out to your muscles.

That means your footwear matters.
Shoes that offer clear boundaries and rich sensory feedback can help refine and reinforce your brain’s sensorimotor maps — leading to better movement, balance, and control.

Our Xelero range (& soon our Anatomica sandals) reinforce a stable forward flow of your movement. Perfect if you are struggling to move well with an injury or chronic condition.

Come check out our shoes next time you are in town 😍

👇 Meet Friday's stellar panel line-up👇

---Narelle Wyndow---
Narelle is a podiatrist with over 30 years of clinical experience and over 20 years of research experience. Narelle currently works in her own clinical practice in Hobart, Tasmania, with a large amount of work directed at treating OA patients and MSK injuries of the weekend warrior adventures! She is now a consultant to an international footwear company, and is developing her own orthotic sandal brand.

---Tom Brough---
Tom has a vast experience in owning multiple podiatry practices through the years, and navigating the balance between business ownership and patient treatment. Now days, Tom operates one predominately MSK podiatry clinic, along with running his own orthotic milling company. Tom is the official Podiatrist for QLD Firebirds and also looks after a number of Australian Hockey players and triathletes, where his use of technology is invaluable to his treatment prescription.

---Mike Curtin---
Mike Curtin’s founding interest is in MSK podiatry, starting through his chosen sport of rowing, connecting the ground reaction forces provided by the boat and the feet when in movement. This passion led to working closely with the Australian Women’s Rowing VIII in 2012, providing his valuable podiatric skills to help them gain qualification for the London Games. Mike is the managing director of his podiatry clinic in regional NSW, and provides invaluable knowledge of converting a passion for MSK into a thriving business, while navigating industry challenges.
