That said, it really shows how beneficial time can be for fading your tattoo. Even without treatment, your body continues to flush out ink particles long after a session.

We recommend a minimum of 8 weeks between sessions to start with — but remember, the longer you wait, the better the fade (within reason, of course!).

Because the skin on your fingers is soft, thin, and constantly regenerating (plus all that hand-washing and everyday friction 👋), finger tattoos tend to fade quicker than most other placements.

To combat this, artists will sometimes go a little deeper with the ink to trap it in place — but that can also mean thicker, blurrier lines. When it comes to laser removal, this can translate to extra sessions, as there’s simply more ink to break down.

On top of that, circulation in your fingers is slower than in other areas, so fading can take a little longer too.
