Do you know someone who has recently had a Stroke?
Intensive Physiotherapy should be commenced early, within the first two weeks. This is the best window of opportunity for the brain to repair itself 🧠💪🏻

The human brain's capacity to recover and rewire itself following a stroke peaks after around two weeks and diminishes over time, according to an international study.

Today we would like to introduce you to Steve.

Bek has been working with Steve to manage some of the symptoms he has been experiencing as a result of living with Parkinson’s Disease. When they first met, he had significant difficulty initiating any forward based movement, including walking. 3 years on and Steve has successfully achieved a full list of goals that seemed impossible.

He wanted to:

- Be able to ride his motorbike confidently 🏍
- Be able to walk well
- Be able to go places with his wife Michelle
- Be able to go shopping without anxiety
- Get back to the gym regularly
- Get to participate in life again

With a combination of Medication, Exercise and support from a loving family and some medical specialists, Steve is enjoying freedom again!

Happy Friday and well done to you Steve 👏

This week is National Stroke week.

Do you know how to recognise the signs of a Stroke?

The F.A.S.T acronym is a quick check in tool that you can apply if you find someone who suddenly becomes unwell.

F - Has their FACE dropped?
A - Can they lift both ARMS?
S - Is their SPEECH slurred and do they understand you?
T - Call 000, TIME is critical.
