When you’ve been running on empty for too long it’s easy to feel like your spark has dimmed. Even simple things start to feel like a stretch. Burnout doesn’t just live in the mind, it can show up in your body too. In Chinese medicine this deep exhaustion is seen as a depletion of your Qi (oxygen) and sometimes your Yin and Blood too (the nourishing forces that keep you feeling calm, centred and replenished.
At South Hobart Acupuncture we understand how the daily grind can begin to feel like a chore. We are here to help you feel at home in your body again and feel the joy of every day so that you can live your life to the fullest ✨ Save this list for the next time you start to run on empty.
✨ Eat warm, cooked meals - think soups, stews, congees, porridges. Foods that warm you up and are easy to digest so you get lots of nutrients really quickly.
✨ Go to bed earlier than you think - most people don’t need more stimulation, they need less. An early bedtime allows your body to unwind and repair overnight.
✨ Say no gently but firmly - did you know that ‘no’ is a full sentence? Every yes is energy spent. Make sure to choose where you put your yeses (and your energy) wisely.
✨ Choose gentle workouts - that help you to build energy, not deplete it. Think walking, slow yoga, Qi Gong or a dance party in the kitchen if that lights you up.
✨ Take time to pause - our nervous system repairs and quietens in the pause between actions. Taking even 1 minute whilst the kettle boils or 5 minutes on the couch will give you space to begin unwinding.
✨Acupuncture & Chinese herbs - to help fill up your tank, reset your nervous system and bring you back into your body.
