Freemasons Tasmania Freemasonry is the world's oldest continuously existing Fraternity, with the first Grand Lodge being organised in London in 1717.

Origins before this time are less concrete and there are many theories ranging from 17th century Scotland to the ancient world. The Grand Lodge of Tasmania was formed in 1890 by the various lodges in existence at the time and currently consists of 40 constituent Lodges with over 2000 members Statewide.
