✨ Exciting news at Risdon Vale Pharmacy! ✨

We’re getting a makeover! 💅 We've be planning this for over 2 years! Our pharmacy is currently undergoing a refit over the next 5–6 weeks — but don’t worry, we’ll be open and trading as usual the entire time. You’ll still be able to get all your usual medicines, health advice, and friendly service (just with a bit of extra noise and excitement in the background!).

We’re also thrilled to have our new mates Shane and Ben from BRL Contracting leading the refit 🛠️ — and it just so happens to be Ben’s birthday today! 🎉 Happy birthday Ben! Here’s a snap of Shane (left), Ben (right) and our pharmacist Manager Daniel in the middle.

We can’t wait to show you the finished result — including an additional new consult room to make your health visits even more comfortable and private.

🎤 Brayden’s Farewell Tour: The Final Stop 🎤
(Yes, this time it’s for real. We double-checked.)

After what can only be described as a farewell tour longer than some artists’ careers, Brayden is officially peacing out. Today is the final stop, the mic drop moment, the curtain call — and we are not emotionally prepared.

Brayden has been a superstar staff member, such a valuable part of the team!

We’ve shared laughs, projects, inside jokes, and questionable playlists. Now it’s time for him to ride off into the sunset like the fabulous force of nature he is.

Pop in and wish our boy well today!

Let’s go big. Big energy, big love, and maybe just a tiny bit of dramatic flair.

Guess who’s NOT at the pharmacy today? 👋💅 It’s ya girl, Katie.

But don’t worry—the boys are running the show (try not to miss me too much, fellas 😘).

They’ve got flu shots locked and loaded 💉, so swing by, roll up that sleeve, and get vaccinated like the responsible legend you are.

Keep the chaos to a minimum while I’m gone, okay? 😏

Flu vaccines are fully-subsidised (free) for:
• People aged 65 years or over
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
• Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy
• People who have medical conditions that mean they have a higher risk of becoming very unwell (check with our pharmacists which conditions this applies to)
For everyone else, the cost is $25.

Today was Brayden's last day working at Risdon Vale Pharmacy full-time, we're wishing him all the best as he continues to develop his career by practicing as a locum pharmacist in pharmacies all across the country. He'll most likely be working the odd shift over the coming months so you might see him around then!

He wished to say: "The people of Risdon Vale have been an absolute pleasure to work with over the last three years, I thank them for helping me to build my knowledge and confidence through their support and patience. They made rolling out of bed and coming to work every day that little bit easier, I will be hard pressed to find a better community no matter where I am. Thank you."

With Brayden departing, it allows for our own Daniel to start as the pharmacist supporting Katie run the pharmacy following his recent registration. Congratulations!

Women's Health Package

You may have heard a recent announcement that there are some new medicines have been added to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme. These are focused around treatments for menopause, and oral contraceptives. Please see the media release (link below) for the specific medications that have been added to the PBS

If you are already using these medicines, you will need a new PBS-prescription (dated March 1st 2025 or after) to access these medicines at the subsidised rate.
