General Practice Training Tasmania General Practice Training Tasmania (GPTT) provides innovative, best practice training to the highest national standards to develop outstanding GPs.

GPTTs Head Office is in Hobart, and while there is a state-wide approach to training, there are GP registrar and medical educator groups in sub-regions around Devonport, Launceston and Hobart. Training from GPTT is geared to individual needs and provides many exciting opportunities for its Registrars.

On Tuesday 24 January, 2023 a special gathering was held at GPTT. All staff (past and present) were invited to come together to celebrate some of the significant achievements of General Practice Training Tasmania over the past 21 years of operations.

Thank you all to our staff who have contributed to providing quality training to sustain and strengthen General Practice and Primary Health Care in Tasmania. We can all be very proud of all that has been achieved.

GPTT will conclude all GP training activities on 31 January 2023. From 1 February, if you have any queries regarding the AGPT program or GP education and training please contact either the RACGP or ACRRM.

General Practice Training Tasmania (GPTT) held two Musculoskeletal Workshops across the state this month in both Launceston and Hobart. Footage captured by Seven News features our workshop and interviews with Medical Educator Dr Tom Jones and GPTT Registrar Fiona Beer.

In a move to support ACRRM registrars, supervisors and training posts in Tasmania, the College and General Practice Training Tasmania (GPTT) have agreed to an early transition to the ACRRM Fellowship program!

The date for transition of GPTT training delivery to ACRRM has been brought forward from February 2023 to 30 September 2022.

It's NAIDOC week, and GPTT is proud to recognise and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year's theme is "Get Up, Stand Up, Show Up" - inviting us all to reflect how we can further support the indigenous communities of our local areas.
