Team "Colossus Late Call Ups"

I wasn't going to compete this year but fomo and certain people in my ear wore me down I guess!😅

So glad I did it! A very tough, but fun weekend. Going away with lots to work on, which is always a win. What a privilege to push my body and test my limits?

As you can imagine, the lifting event was my favourite💪🏻

Thanks Matt, Haylee and team for putting on a stella event, as always.

And thanks Nathan for jumping on board with me last minute. What a team! Stoked to make the finals and finish 4th overall.

What an amazing fitness community we have here in Tassie! 😍 stoked to be a part of it!

1000 days of cold showers ❄️
Not because I particularly love the cold, but because I love who I’ve become by showing up for it.

Small, consistent action changes everything.
Build proof you can do hard things. Keep showing up.

As a recovering procrastinator, these 5 habits keep me moving and showing up for myself, even when my motivation is MIA:

1️⃣ Practice doing hard things
I treat discomfort like a muscle. The more I train it, the stronger I get.

2️⃣ Plan, organise, prepare
A clear plan removes the “where do I start?” spiral.

3️⃣ Phone a friend
Sometimes I need to ask my husband to help me get out of my own way. Accountability works.

4️⃣ Focus on the after-feels
Future me never regrets showing up.

5️⃣ The 5-second rule

Sometimes self care means doing less.

Saying no.

Letting the laundry wait.

Taking a rest day.

Allowing space for your body to rest and your mind to be still.

And sometimes self-care means taking action.

Getting up for the walk.

Making the appointment.

Doing the thing you’ve been putting off.

Both have their place.
Both are ways of honouring yourself.

And the thing you need most will often be the thing you are resisting.

✨If you struggle to navigate between listening to your body and knowing when to pause… and knowing when to take action and do the damn thing,

Some highlights from the last 8 weeks during my social media hiatus:

🏋‍♀️ Training is still going steady. Very much listening to my body and striving to improve my energy. Prioritising heavy when I have capacity.
🎥 PBd my Bella Complex at 87.5kg

🐶 CrossFit Colossus held the Dog 24 Hour Challenge: 24 workouts in 24 hours, raising funds for Black Dog Institute. Really proud of our gym community for coming together for this.
🎥 We made the news!

🌊 I turned 28, and got to spend the morning with a massive crew of legends from Colossus, for our Winter Ocean Dip event.
🎥 Got my birthday burpees done!

I also kept up my weekly ocean dips, made a Minecraft themed cake, played minecraft for the first time, visited Philip Island, went on a giant swing, navigated Melbourne peak hour traffic, partied with the Colossus crew to celebrate the end of the Winter Challenge and got gifted (and used) 3 birthday massage vouchers.

I’m back.
After 8 weeks off socials, I’m re-entering with more clarity and a stronger mission.

Because the truth is—
I’ve never fit neatly into one box.
And neither do the women I work with.

You’re a beast in the gym, clear in your ambition.

You’re also nurturing, intuitive, and tired of pushing past your body’s whispers.

You want to live in the bothness—
✨To chase your potential — and honour your capacity.
✨To hold it all together — and allow yourself to be held.
✨To be the anchor and the storm.
✨To be disciplined — and give yourself grace.
✨To show up for others — and still show up for yourself.
✨To feel fierce and fragile, and know both are valid.
✨To give generously — and receive fully.
✨To create life — and still pursue your own.
✨To have high standards — and a soft heart.
✨To know your worth — and still seek growth.

That’s the woman I’m here for.
That’s the space I’m building.

Over the coming months, you’ll see me gently re-enter this space with new offerings, resources, and spaces built around this mission.

Hi, I’m Lauren! I started out running boot camps in my family’s shearing shed, and now “Shear Fitness” has evolved into “Sheer Fitness”, operating at GTT Performance Centre, Hobart.

My Mission is to help you take control of your life and health; to find your power and become an unstoppable force capable of achieving whatever you set your mind to. How do we do this? Through functional, fun and challenging training, lifestyle and nutrition coaching, education, and a community of like-minded people supporting each other, of course!

My focus is on helping you FEEL amazing! I have come to realise through my own fitness journey that it is not so much about how you look, but how you FEEL that really matters. I want to help my clients feel AMAZING, take control of their health and help them prove to themselves how badass they really are!
