We have recently acquired Tasmanian Eye Clinics and expanded to four main conveniently located clinics, with our most recent opening in Glenorchy. We will continue to provide eyecare for the previous patients of Tasmanian Eye Clinics, including patients of Dr Wise and we are also welcoming new patients.

Last weekend Prof Paul McCartney attended the ACE (Asian Contura ® Experts) meeting in Bangkok. Wavelight®
Laser users from across the region met to discuss the latest developments in laser vision correction (LASIK).

The discussion centred on the customised precision gained from using the topographically guided Contura®
treatment method. Paul spoke on using this method in challenging cases such as re-treatments. It is the standard approach for myopic LASIK which we use at Lasersight Hobart Eye Surgeons.

1996 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and former president of Timor-Leste, José Ramos-Horta recently thanked all those who have donated to the Foundation for Surgery.

The funds raised and the support of the Foundation means that the East Timor Eye Program (ETEP) can continue to make significant change in eye health and services for the East-Timorese people.

Our own Dr Nitin Verma is the founder of the East Timor Eye Program, which has been making a difference since 2000.
