The superficial gluteal muscles - gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, gluteus minimus, and tensor fasciae latae - primarily control hip extension, abduction, and medial rotation while stabilizing the pelvis during movement 🀩 Beneath them, the deep gluteal muscles - piriformis, obturator internus, gemelli (superior and inferior), and quadratus femoris - act mainly as lateral rotators of the hip, providing fine control and stability to the joint 🦡
