The time of year is fast approaching, the Christmas period.
For many, this is a joyous occasion in many ways - however, this Christmas thousands of children will go without the simple joy of unwrapping a gift.
Christmas can be a really tough time for families trying to make ends meet – and the simple things we often take for granted, like a gift under the tree or chocolate treats, are just not possible.
We need your help to make sure families in need, can share in the joy of Christmas.

This year, Phillip Stephens Funerals are taking part in assisting the Joy Drive appeal, hosted by the Hobart City Mission. Inside our office, you will find a basket for those wanting to donate toys or non-perishable food to the appeal. Donations of money can also be made to support this wonderful cause.
Please, if you have something you could spare to support this drive, we are asking for your help, so that Christmas can be a little easier for everyone. Reach out and ask us how you can help. We will be accepting items until COB on the 11th December 2025.
Together - we can make a difference to the lives of others.

In times of loss, it’s often our community that lifts us, through shared stories, warm meals, quiet check-ins, and the presence of those who care.

At Phillip Stephens Funerals, we’re proud to be part of the Hobart community that shows such generosity and love. For decades, we’ve seen firsthand how kindness brings comfort and helps families heal.

If you or someone you know is navigating grief, know that you’re not alone. We’re here, ready to listen, guide, and help you create a farewell that truly reflects a life well lived.

In remembering, we keep the stories alive, the laughter, the kindness, the small moments that meant the most.

Creating a memorial, lighting a candle, or visiting a familiar place can help keep a loved one’s presence close, even long after they’ve gone. These gentle rituals remind us that love endures beyond loss.

At Phillip Stephens Funerals, we help families create personal, heartfelt tributes that reflect the beauty and individuality of those they cherish. Because every life deserves to be remembered with grace and authenticity. ❤️

Grief is not something to ‘get over’, it’s a sign of deep love.
It changes with time, but it never truly leaves us.

At Phillip Stephens Funerals, we walk beside families through the quiet moments that follow loss, helping them find ways to honour their loved one while allowing space for their grief to unfold naturally.

Whether it’s a simple service, a personal tribute, or a quiet reflection by the river, we believe that every farewell should hold meaning. Because remembering is how love continues. ❤️

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Suzie Calvert.
A woman known to so many across Hobart, on the hockey field, the education system, the banking sector and many places in between.
Suzie was a personable woman with a heart of gold and she will be sorely missed.
A Service for Suzie will be available via livestream, this Thursday, 2nd October at 2.30pm. The link is available at psfunerals.com.au
Our condolences to her family, friends and acquaintances across Hobart. 🌿💐

In times of loss, it is often the small gestures that bring the most comfort- a hand held, a story shared, a quiet moment of reflection.

At Phillip Stephens Funerals, our promise is simple: to walk beside the Hobart community with compassion, care, and love. 💙

Sometimes in the work that we do, we lose someone we knew and loved too.
Sometimes, we are faced with our own raw emotions as we come to terms with it all.
It is always, such an honour and privilege, for us to be there with our families to help them through these moments.
Yet know that we too, go through these things and feel the pang, of someone we once knew.
