Sometimes healing begins with something small, a simple ritual that keeps love close.

If you’re grieving, consider creating one gentle tradition for the year ahead:
• Write down a favourite memory and keep it somewhere safe
• Cook a meal they loved
• Visit a place that reminds you of them
• Plant something in their honour
• Share their story with someone who never met them

These quiet acts don’t change what’s happened, but they can bring comfort, and remind us that love continues.

From all of us at Phillip Stephens Funerals, we are here for Hobart families, with care, dignity, and support. ❤️

Once the festive season ends, support can fade quickly, yet for many grieving families, January is when the loneliness can feel most present.

If someone you care about has experienced a loss, consider reaching out now, not with pressure, but with steady kindness. A short call. A coffee. A walk along the waterfront. A simple “How are you travelling today?”

In Hobart, we pride ourselves on being a community that shows up, not only in the moment of loss, but in the weeks and months that follow. ❤️

As the year turns, it’s natural to hope for fresh beginnings, but grief doesn’t reset at midnight.

If you’re entering the New Year without someone you love, you may feel out of step with the celebrations around you. Please know that’s normal. A new year can hold both sorrow and hope, side by side.

May the year ahead bring moments of comfort, connection, and quiet strength, and may our community continue to look out for one another in ways that truly matter.

Happy New Year from Phillip Stephens Funerals. ❤️

To our Hobart community, we wish you a peaceful Christmas.

And to those for whom Christmas feels different this year, because someone you love is missing: we see you. Whether you are surrounded by family or spending today quietly, please be gentle with yourself. There is no need to “push through” or pretend you’re okay.

If it feels right, take a moment to honour your person, light a candle, share a story, play their favourite song, or simply speak their name with love.

From everyone at Phillip Stephens Funerals, Merry Christmas. ❤️🎄

When someone is grieving, many people worry about saying the wrong thing, so they say nothing. But often, what helps most is simply showing you care.

A few gentle ways to support someone this season:
• Send a message that doesn’t require a reply: “Thinking of you today.”
• Offer something specific: “I can drop dinner over on Thursday.”
• Say their loved one’s name, it honours the person, it doesn’t “remind” them.
• Keep checking in after Christmas, when the quiet can feel loud.

Small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in our community, especially at this time of year. ❤️

For many in our Hobart community, December is a time of gathering and celebration. But for others, it can be a season that gently stirs memories, a familiar song, a family tradition, a name you still want to say out loud.

If you are carrying grief at this time of year, please know there is no “right” way to do December. You may feel strong one moment and teary the next. Both can be true. Grief is simply love in another form, and it deserves tenderness.

From all of us at Phillip Stephens Funerals, we’re holding space for those who are missing someone this season, and extending warmth to families across Hobart and surrounding areas. ❤️

You don’t need grand gestures to honour a life, sometimes the simplest ones mean the most. ❤️

Maybe it’s placing a photo of your loved one on your Christmas table, playing a favourite song, hanging a unique ornament with their name, or writing them a letter to open each year.

These quiet rituals bring comfort, connection and peace. The team at Phillip Stephens Funerals is here for the Hobart community, offering support and care when you need it.

The Christmas season can stir gentle memories and deep longings for someone special who isn’t here. Consider adding a meaningful tribute:

🕯️ Light a candle at their favourite time of day
