When someone is grieving, many people worry about saying the wrong thing, so they say nothing. But often, what helps most is simply showing you care.

A few gentle ways to support someone this season:
• Send a message that doesn’t require a reply: “Thinking of you today.”
• Offer something specific: “I can drop dinner over on Thursday.”
• Say their loved one’s name, it honours the person, it doesn’t “remind” them.
