It’s that time of year again for a great cause. The actual day if Friday 5th June, but I will be celebrating and creating a fundraiser at the farm on Thursday 4th June. Today we challenged the wind and went out to Werribee Beach to explore the playground and use up some energy. The older children climbed the rock wall to use the big slide, the younger children crawled through the tunnel and up onto the small slide. Lots of them used the swings for a good period of time, before we headed home for our lunch. Was nice being out in the sun too.

First day of school holidays and I took 7 children to Werribee Zoo.The dinosaurs were delayed, so each child had a chance to check their maps and lead the way. We had the time and enjoyed the adventure of the safari bus and we sat next to the zebras and had lunch. We did get rained on a bit but otherwise we explored lots together.

With the weather being warmer and with my new puppy Phoebe. We bathed her all together with each child pouring water on her, rubbing the shampoo into her fur and then washing it off. We then rubbed her dry and let her briefly explore. She then settled in her play pen inside my house for a rest.

We are back and off to a new start in my new play space. Been a busy few weeks getting it organised and I’m thrilled with the outcome. The children have explored lots in the new areas and more fun times to come. Here’s my new learning environment for you all to see.

Have had an amazing experiences with JoJo (Hey Dee Ho Intergenerational teacher) who does sessions at both Manor Court and Bapcare centres in Wyndham area. I love each session I can get to and the connections made with JoJo and the children gets stronger each time we go. I also love engaging and connecting with the residents too and it puts a smile on everyone’s faces. Can’t wait for the sessions to begin next year and thanks again, throughly enjoy these opportunities.

I love how we can engage in nature and let each child just be. They are also collecting nature tools for their gifts to their parents and we will enjoy a lovely lunch together before we head back home. This is one of the reasons I throughly enjoy being a family daycare educator.

Today we went to the You Yangs and took part in a variety of experiences for NAIDOC Week. We placed a variety of tools for the children to see, feel and explore with. We read the story “ The Rainbow Serpent”, followed by drawing using charcoal, making hand prints using the colours to represent the Aboriginal Flag and freely engaging in nature.
We enjoyed our lunch in the sunshine before heading home.

Today we celebrated Superhero day with my scheme Cheeky Pandas at the farm with other educators and children. This is to help raise funds for and spread awareness of this charity The children were able to explore a variety of play spaces and I did a group time using an interactive heart toy which engaged the children.
My account is still open and haven’t got an end total yet, so will upgrade everyone once it’s finalised.

Throughout March we made the most of this beautiful weather and extended our classroom to be taken outdoors. We explore play spaces from within my learning environment, set them up in master and also exploring our natural environment too. We have been going monthly to Hey Dee Ho Intergenerationsl at Manor court and Bapt Care Werribee. The children are becoming familiar with the residents and continue to engage in the music session.

We went again to engage in Intergenerational Hey Dee Ho at Manor court and my children showed signs of gaining a sense of belonging. They did this by engaging with the residents more on their own and joined in the session more too. My aim is to continue to participate regularly and for everyone to have a sense of belonging and the environment to be a positive experience for all.
