CONVERSATIONS WITH THE ANGELS (Archangel Raphael)
Topic: Why Humans Experience Illness and Chronic Health Conditions
Me: Raphael, this one feels important, especially to me as I suffer with chronic health issues... People ask me all the time why humans get sick. Why some people struggle for years. Why chronic health hits certain people so hard. Why does this even happen?
Raphael: Because the human body is not separate from life. It reacts to environment, experience, genetics, emotion, time, and the world you live in. Illness isn’t a punishment. It’s a reality of being human.
Me: That already feels softer than how people usually think about this....
Raphael: It should. Many people blame themselves for their health. They think they manifested it, caused it, or failed somehow. None of that is true. Bodies are delicate systems. They respond to stress, injuries, imbalances, toxins, emotions, and inherited patterns.
There is no shame in that.
Me: And chronic illness?
Raphael: Chronic illness doesn’t mean someone is weak. It often means they are carrying more than their body can process alone. Some people are more sensitive. Some have older wounds in the body. Some inherit things they didn’t choose. Some face environments that push their system too far.
Chronic conditions say nothing about a person’s worth or strength.
Me: So it’s not spiritual failure or misalignment?
Raphael: Never. Some people with the deepest health struggles are the most aligned souls you’ll ever meet.
Health is not a measure of spirituality.
It’s a measure of biology meeting life.
And life can be heavy.
Me: Humans often ask “Why me?”
Raphael: And it’s a fair question. Sometimes the answer is physical like genetics, injuries, immune sensitivity. Sometimes it’s emotional, a body holding what the heart had no safe place to release. Sometimes it’s environmental. Sometimes it’s a mix of everything.
Me: So the body basically speaks when it can’t cope anymore.
Raphael: Yes. For some people, illness becomes the body’s way of slowing them down, protecting them, or forcing them to pay attention to what has been ignored. Not as punishment. As survival.
Me: And what about healing? People get so scared they’ll never get better.
Raphael: Healing isn’t always “curing.” Healing is support. Management. Strengthening what is possible. Softening what isn’t.
Some people heal through medicine.
Some through lifestyle.
Some through relief.
Some through acceptance.
Some through the people who help them along the way.
Me: That feels… real.
Raphael: Illness is part of the human experience. But so is resilience. So is adaptation. So is comfort. So is support.
You’re not meant to battle your body.
You’re meant to work with it, understand it, and care for it in the best way you can.
Me: And what’s the main thing you want people to take from this?
Raphael: That illness... Especially chronic illness, is not a sign of failure. It’s a sign of humanity.
Your body is not against you.
It’s trying to survive something.
You deserve compassion, not blame.
Me: You don't know how much I, and probably others needed this Raphael. Thank you.
