Due to the amazing growth in self-expression, emotional regulation, and social connection of our current Legends program, we have decided to introduce a group for younger children with the same focus and opportunity for skill development. Introducing Legend Sparks! The group is facilitated by a multidisciplinary team including a Occupational Therapist, Creative Arts Therapist, Therapy Assistants and Disability Support Facilitators, with small group sizes of 3–6 children to ensure individualised support and meaningful peer connections.

As the year draws to a close, we came together with laughter, gratitude, and joy to celebrate “Firework Finale: A Sky Full of Love and Gratitude” week! ✨
Our clients enjoyed two delicious Festival Feasts on Monday and Tuesday, followed by creative fun with reindeer masks, sparkling star ornaments, and plenty of singing throughout the week.
This year, we especially honour the growth, connections, and friendships formed at our Function Centre. Together, our hearts shine brighter than any firework, celebrating a year full of creativity, kindness, and shared joy!

This week we celebrated “Jingle Bells & Firework Spells”, inviting our clients to create, laugh, and share their gratitude for the year gone by. Through art, movement, and mindful giving, we embraced the true spirit of the season — connection, kindness, and the magic in everyday moments. This week we celebrated “Twinkle, Tinsel & Thrills”, welcoming the Christmas cheer! As the year sparkles to an end, we entered a joyful, sensory wonderland of twinkling lights, peppermint scents, and festive laughter. 🎄🎅
Our week celebrated togetherness and kindness through meaningful art, mindful reflection, and playful movement. We also honoured International Day of Persons with Disabilities, recognising each person’s unique brilliance while creating space for joy, belonging, and connection.
We were thrilled to welcome our second visit from “Good Start” Kindergarten, where our young friends joined us in exploring festive crafts, sharing laughter, and spreading holiday cheer throughout the centre.

This week we celebrated 5 Years of Shine and our Open Day at our beautiful Function Centre! Our clients even prepared and cooked the delicious spread and poured drinks for all who came to celebrate with us. Our weeks' theme, “Spectrum of Ourselves”, reflected all the colours, creativity, and incredible experiences that have shaped the past year.
We are so proud of all our amazing clients and the growth, joy, and spirit they bring to our programs every day. We can’t wait to step into December full of merriness, festive fun, and more wonderful moments together!

This week we celebrated “Spin the Hoop, Share the Love Loop” in honour of World Hula Hoop Day — a swirl of sensory hoops, joyful spins, and movement that had the whole room humming with energy.
Meanwhile, our brand-new rock climbing wall made its grand debut in the Legends program! Watching the kids take on this fresh challenge — with courage, curiosity, and a sprinkle of cheeky determination — was nothing short of inspiring.
We also welcomed the wonderful Good Start Kindergarten to the Shine Day Program, where their tiny hands and big hearts added beautiful new blossoms to our Kindness Tree. 🌳😍

This week we celebrated “Remember, Reflect, Create & Connect” week, honouring both Remembrance Day and World Origami Day. Through origami, clients explored memory and symbolism — each fold linking past, present, and future. From cranes to poppies, hearts to stars, every fold became a quiet prayer for peace and a remembrance of those who served.
Our clients also enjoyed meaningful outings to see the Tiny Goats in Dimboola and to The Wood’s Farming and Heritage Museum, rounding out a week of creativity, reflection, and connection.

After an incredible weekend at the Nati Frinj Festival, showcasing our Lotus Art Exhibition, Lotus and Nova Films, and Sensory Room — all so warmly received by the community — this week we kept the creative energy flowing with our “Grow with the Flow – Movember Glow” celebrations.
