🌱 Anowah is looking for friendly locals who would like to lend a hand and make a real difference.

🤝 We are seeking volunteers who can help with gardening, light maintenance, or offering extra support during community outings. Whether you have a green thumb 🌿, handy skills 🔧, or simply enjoy spending time with people 😊, your help would be truly appreciated.

💙 If volunteering is not possible, donations are also welcome. Every contribution goes directly towards maintaining our homes 🏡 and refreshing furniture across our sites, helping ensure our clients have safe, comfortable spaces to enjoy.

✨ Your support, big or small, helps us continue creating meaningful moments for the people we serve.

📩 If you would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you.

The theme for International Day of People with Disability 2025 is “Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress.”

It’s a powerful reminder that building inclusive communities is a shared responsibility and essential for true social progress.

This World Disability Day, we celebrate diversity, champion accessibility, and recognise the leadership of people with disability in every space we share.

This year’s theme reminds us that inclusion only works when everyone is invited to participate. When people with disability lead, contribute to decision-making,
and shape policy, our communities become stronger, fairer, and more reflective of all voices.

At Anowah, we see leadership every day in our clients’ choices, their goals, and the way they inspire others to imagine new possibilities.

💬 Let’s continue amplifying these voices today and every day.

For the past two years, Dorotte has been working hard with her support team to improve her posture and mobility, and she’s finally seeing the results. 💪 Through her daily walking program, she has become stronger, more confident, and ready to enjoy new adventures, like her recent day out at Penrith Aqua Golf. ⛳

Her journey is a beautiful reminder that progress takes time, patience, and belief. With the right support, every goal becomes possible.
We’re so proud of you, Dorotte. Your determination inspires us all.

We’re proud to celebrate Charlie Arena, Anowah’s long-time Maintenance Manager, who received the Pride of Workmanship Award from the Rotary Club of Fairfield City

For over 20 years, Charlie has quietly kept Anowah running, from fixing equipment and maintaining our homes to caring for our gardens, vehicles, and community spaces. No task is ever too small or too hard. Whether it’s a broken wheelchair, a blocked pipe, or a missing remote, Charlie is always there, ready to help with patience, humour, and heart.

He’s trusted by everyone, clients, families, and staff, because he listens, shows up, and always finds a way to make things work.

💬 Charlie, you represent the true meaning of pride in workmanship, and we’re so grateful for everything you do for our community.

Sonia believes in creating opportunities for people with disability to live fulfilling, independent lives. Her compassion and person-centred approach reflect Anowah’s values of inclusion and respect every single day.

In her role as a support worker at Anowah, Sonia supports clients to build skills, gain confidence, and participate in their community in meaningful ways.

“One moment that made me proud was when a client I support didn’t feel confident to complete a task. With a bit of encouragement, he achieved it, and the smile on his face lasted the whole day. Seeing my effort reflected in their progress, no matter how small, always fills me with pride,” she shares.

For Sonia, empowerment is at the heart of everything, giving clients the confidence to grow and live life on their own terms.
💬 Thank you, Sonia, for bringing warmth and purpose to every day at Anowah.
