We dance at NLNL Hurstbridge for around 35 hours every year, plenty of time to have some fun with it!

Requests! We love them at NLNL Hurstbridge. They add variety to our playlists and I know what it's like to want to bust some moves in the supermarket... so if you've been reminded of a song you love to dance to and you need somewhere to do it. We've got you!

I've always accepted requests right up until Monday, but this is your heads up that I now need to finish the playlist by Sunday instead, due to Mondays getting a bit busier for me!

So, if you're planning to attend and would love to hear your requests, please send them to me as soon as possible. I may be able to accomodate late requests if I can find an easy swapsies opp in the playlist, but sending them to me by Friday would be ideal, or Saturday is probably OK too.

If your attendance is irregular you can absolutely request a song for a particular night, if you attend most weeks, you can send me a list, or a spotify list is even better and I'll dip into it every week.

Our last dance for term one is this Monday, but stay tuned, we may have an extra holiday session on the 13th April!

If you’ve been to a NLNL session you’ll understand how great dancing in the dark is for your energy, mental health, heart, soul (and the family and friends you interact with for the rest of the week 😆).

Well in term two, NLNL Hurstbridge is going to be levelling up! We’re gonna introduce a little something extra for your brain!

Each Tuesday I’ll be posting a reel that I’ve found online, with some choreography. The accompanying music will be played the following week… so your challenge (if you choose to accept) is to learn the choreography in time for the next Monday session, where you can test your memory and give it a go. This is a purely personal challenge, just for fun! And of course nobody will see whether you attempt it or nail it! 😆

So, next week we’re starting with a SUPER easy one! Because you’ve only got the weekend to learn it.

Yikes… I haven’t shared the last two playlists with you…so here they are!

We’re been enjoying a return to an extra dark hall as the season shifts. A space for all the ugly dancing you need for coping with life! 😏 I don’t actually care how it looks, it just feels so damn good.

Next Monday is the last dance before the Easter break, but we might have a snesky extra session in the second week of the holidays, who’s in?

There are a total of 35 guaranteed term time sessions in 2026, and possibly even 41 (extra holiday sessions are dependent on my availability and perceived demand and I decide on these closer to the holidays).

Thank you to the dance legends who took matters into their own hands and blocked out a window after the blind fell off! 👏😳👏😳👏

What a start to the night that was. 🥴 Reminded me that we’re all part of a great community at NLNL Hurstbridge, a supportive and friendly group (always happy to welcome newcomers too)!

Next week is Labour Day weekend, so we shall return the week after… plenty of time for the blind to get fixed!
