Posture and positioning of the body is important when it comes to practising Tai Chi and Qigong. The reason is to help the body internally first become relaxed meaning soft with less tension. Then the mind is to feel light as the weight sinks into the feet and the Qi and Blood can start to flow freely without obstruction or Qi being used.

This means that you are not overthinking and the body is not holding any form of hard tension. The Liver organ will then be soothed, the lungs will be able to expand freely to maximum, kidneys are able to create moisture with the combination of Kidney Yin and Yang whilst the Spleen can distribute and feed the four sides.

This refers to Qi and Blood being able to move the nutrients and minerals necessary for healing from another perspective. In the Chinese Medicine perspective, blood can move to heal the body along the sinews and muscle channels whilst Qi moves to reduce stagnation and other factors.

Therefore, practising Qigong, you should feel the breathing to be smooth and expansive in the chest and upper back down to the diaphragm in a relaxed manner.
