🌟 Celebrating Brooke’s Big Heart! 🌟
One of our wonderful participants, Brooke, is doing something truly amazing. On Wednesday 25th March, Brooke will be cutting her hair as part of the World’s Greatest Shave to help raise funds and awareness for people impacted by blood cancer.
Brooke is bravely taking part to support an incredible cause, and we couldn’t be prouder of her generosity and spirit. 💛✂️
If you’d like to show your support, please consider making a donation to our fundraiser. Every contribution, big or small, helps make a real difference in the lives of those affected.
Kevin was very lucky to attend the Local Legends football game in Innisfail. While there, Kevin had the exciting opportunity to meet Billy Slater.
Kevin also had his jersey signed by Billy Slater and the other players, which made the experience even more special for him. 🏈

Cooking with Keiren
Keiren and his support worker used the activity room kitchen to do some cooking together. Keiren prepared a tasty chicken stir-fry, showing great focus while chopping ingredients and cooking at the stove.
After the stir-fry, Kerien also did some baking. He made jam drops and chocolate chip cookies, carefully mixing the ingredients and helping shape the biscuits before they went into the oven.
Keiren has done a fantastic job with his cooking today. The smells coming out of the kitchen were divine, filling the activity room and making everyone excited to see the final results.

Our Life Skills group wanted to try the social media trending dessert the Arnott’s Biscuit Slice and it definitely didn’t disappoint… it was delicious! 😋
Life Skills isn’t just about cooking. It’s also about learning how to plan, prepare, and clean up together. From getting the ingredients ready to washing up afterwards, everyone played a part and did a fantastic job.
A great team effort and a very tasty result! 👏🍰

Our Life Skills participants took a break from the kitchen and spent time developing valuable everyday skills out in the community. The group practiced budgeting, handling money, using self-serve registers, and finding value-for-money items as they prepare for our upcoming Biggest Morning Tea and Cent Sale, where all funds raised will be donated to the Queensland Cancer Council.
This will be the third year that participants from Life Ur Way, along with their families, support workers, and staff, have come together to host this special event. Through the planning and preparation, participants strengthen a range of important skills including time management, hospitality, food handling, catering for a large event, and engaging with the community to seek donations.
Events like this provide a wonderful opportunity for participants to build confidence, develop independence, and connect with the community while supporting an important cause.🛒👛
