⚠️ Weather Update – Stay Alert North Tropical Coast

The Bureau of Meteorology is monitoring Tropical Low 29U in the Coral Sea. There is a moderate chance it may develop into a tropical cyclone before reaching the North Tropical Coast on Friday.
From Thursday evening, communities between Cooktown and Palm Island — including Port Douglas, Cairns, Innisfail and Cardwell — may experience:
🌬️ Gusty winds up to 100 km/h
🌧️ Heavy rainfall & possible flash flooding
🌊 Higher than normal tides
A Flood Watch is also current for northern catchments.

- Stay up to date through your local Disaster Dashboard.

- Avoid flooded roads — If it’s flooded, forget it.
- For non‑life‑threatening emergencies, contact the SES on 132 500.
